No.

I ran my Corsa B 1.2 16v on 2 different sets of rollers at different stages of tune.

1st time was at Northampton Motorsport in 2001 and all it had was a PiperX cone filter, it produced 76bhp.

2nd time was at a rolling road in Luton, PTS I think. I had removed the cone filter and put the standard airbox back on had a CAT back exhaust and it made 82bhp

Paul_J ran his on a couple of different rollers and made over 75bhp also both times.

Look, I'm not being funny but so many factors could be involved, my 1.2 16v had 17's which made it a tad faster top end. Your engine might be down on power, your engine might be a Friday engine, his engine might be a Tuesday engine.

Does it really matter though honestly?

WEll the 1.4 8v we had fealt nippy bottom end.

Then we tried it against my 16v.

Needless to say, I was already well gone by 2nd. Poor little Troy (Troy Corsa, remember Chuckie oli?).

That engine had over 100k, and you could tell it was very tired.

Yet other 8v's I couldn't get rid of

Ahhh happy days...

Its like saying "yeah my C20XE has 150bhp, even though it has 120,000 miles"

It won't, i'll probably be down in the very low 140's, maybe even hight 130's. Engines loose power as they get older, unless its a VeeDub GTi (mk2) engine, in which case its just breaking in at 90k.

You can't compare the engines. Totally different technology, fly by wire Vs cable, plus about 15 years in age in the design of the engine.

High mileage C20XEs can still make standard figures if not more if they have been looked after.

C25XEs arent broken in till well after 100k and then they start making alot more than standard figs.

Yes but you thinik a boxster is a poor mans porsche, so that makes anything you say irrelevant.

I've not seen many 100K+ standard engine make 150bhp on TRUSTED rollers.....

My SRi was pretty quick, beat my mates 16v Sport. I wish I still had that thing, shame about the paint job and the nice hole in the engine bloke. Why did I downgrade to a 1.2 8v which is on it's 3rd head gasket this year, piece of crap car.

Most people on here will remember the shitter of a SRi I had, but even though the engine blew up in that, i've had more problems with the 1.2 8valver, spent more than a grand repairing it, only owned the bloody thing for 1 year and 2 months.
