so the Wankel engines are in the lower tax bracket purely because of their displacement brilliant.

depends on what dervs you have drove

the 170 TDI in the VAG IMO is a terribel engine
noisey, unrefinded and has loads of lag

the BMW derv's are fantatstic
they rev like petrols and are very quick for what they are

I would say its quick and suprises alot of people

The new 2.0d 170ps from BMW is very very good - progressive power/it doesn't all come in one lump like the VAG imho

Grey area actually... the DVLA are trying to close the loophole. All new rotaries are now classed as 2.6, if you send your V5 in to have something changed (respray etc) then they sometimes amend them then and send you a snotty letter along the lines of:

"Hi,

We notice you have a powerful car with low displacement. We don't like this, so we've doubled the capacity on paper despite what is even written on the engine itself.

Some Welsh Cunts."
