Adam you have finaicial advisors who special in tax advice.
I would consider visiting an accountant who deals with taxation as their hourly rate will be more favourable.
Robbo I hated tax although passed all the three exams i took which was an acheivement!

Depends on the company/advisor you use.
I know my Dad's whole company had whole divisions to work on tax matters like this - infact its what my Dad specialised in when he advised as used to be work for the revenue.

I know when my father and I where restructuring the family businesses our financial advisors came up with all sorts of ways of reducing our annual tax bill, so I would suggest speaking with someone who understands the complexities of what you are trying to achieve.
Couldn't recommend these guys more highly.

I don't know how you could really improve on Adam's though...he pays it, and then gets it all back in a nice lump sum every April/May
