All your family seem like very nice and level headed people

yeah if only, my dad was a nice person, would do anything for me and anyone else then he met the bulldog that he is now married to and everything changed

I was in dispute with my dad for a fair few years.

Eventually, no matter what he's done, u'll realise he's your dad, you only get one.

Whether you choose to sort it sooner rather than later is your choice, but if he died today, no matter WHAT you say, you WILL regret it.

Take from that what you will.

i dont get anything from my parents! never have! few things here and there when i was younger, but when my dad left my mum, money wise we was stuck! so being materialist went out the window!

myself, brother and sister pay for everything ourselves!,

(i dont own house) but my sister and my brother have paid for there own houses, cars and there weddings from there own pockets, nothing from our mum or dad ! they just cant afford it.

i cant see it being any different for our kids generations tbh, unless you are minted :/

but the first time in 10 years my dad has helped me a little bit finacially this month! which im paying back when im paid anyway!

i havent spoke to him for 4 years now and i dont intent to speak to him ever again, he cant turn the clock back for the things he has done, plus there is not only me that thinks like this, he has 2 kids from his first wife that he had not seen in over 25 years, my mom had a 5 year old son when she met him,he is now 35, they then went on to have my sister, now 28, then me 21. and none of us have anything to do with him since he met the bulldog, he just turned into a total prick and noone will miss him if he died tomorrow FACT and tbh i would be happy

oh by the way when i say bulldog she looks like this

yes the saggy mouth and everything, just ALOT fatter

I don't see why people moan about this. If I have kids that go to uni etc I'd be more than happy to support them and help them along the way.

I'm good with my money, been brought up that way, always had a job whilst studying. The girlfriend, totally opposite, her mum and dad are shit with money and have spoilt her, She hasn't had a job all the last year of uni and relied on everyone else. Her mum and dad tell her not to worry , but then when she needs some they haven't got any, then try saying its my responsibility now.

I couldn't care less if people get money from their parents, i'd like to be able to.

I hope to be able to provide for my kids.
