Took me ages to figure that bit out - kept reading it as For The Lose!

I heard there was a 2% chance that it will destroy the world when they turn it on

immense speed is only a theory of time travel
john titor described a manipulation (bending) of gravity to achieve time travel, without travelling to the speed of light
interestingly he did mention that its CERN that make the first breakthrough in time travel

John Titor says Russia launch nuclear war in 2015 so the world can't end when this gets turned on.

Anyone else think it's ironic that the Swiss, a nation that have stayed out of conflict are going to destroy the world

they wouldn't turn it on if there was even a minute chance the world could end.

the only way i can see time traveling happen is if you fly faster than the speed of light miles away from earth turn around with a telescope and zoom right in then you can see what happened in the past.

On 21 March 2008, a complaint requesting an injunction to halt the LHC's startup was filed by a group of seven concerned individuals against CERN and its American collaborators, the US Department of Energy, the National Science Foundation and the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory, before the United States District Court for the District of Hawaii. Following the publication of the LSAG report, the US Government called for summary dismissal of the suit against the government defendants.
On 26 August 2008, suit was filed against CERN in the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg alleging the Large Hadron Collider poses grave risks for the safety of the 27 member states of the European Union and their citizens.[39][40] The request for an injunction was summarily rejected on the 29th, leaving the case that it violates the right to life still pending.

Yeh but by the time youve stoped and turned around light has already caught up with you
Youd need to be going something crazy like 10 * the speed of light for that to work...

the people doing the experiment havnt denyed that the expeirpment will cause black holes, because it will. they are hoping that they evaoprate almost instantly. but if one black hole doesnt, it will get bigger and bigger and eventually (over a period of 4 years) will engulf the whole planet.
its all a bit high risk for an experiment that will achieve nothing. they are only replecating the conditions after the big bang in order to see if some theoretical particals actually exist. once they know whether they exist, it will answer a few more questions...thats it. it wont sure cancer or create an alternative fuel. utterly ridiculous. just a bunch of high up scientists trying to proove a point against religion.

It's not a big risk or trying to prove a point against religion.
People who read the sun should go back under their rocks and not comment on things they know nothing about.
CERN was founded in 1954 and they have had particle accelerators before now, people didn't have a problem with they ones.
Is there anybody left, apart from some sun readers, who think that the world did really start with adam and eve.
AFAIK evolution has been quite comprehensively proven so what exactly will this be proving against religion?
