Do you want to spend more time in a supermarket than you have to?

Wait 5 min at the tills.

Or do it yourself, scan, pay, out the door, no waiting.

I don't steal, why bother over a few quid? Thats just lame and so so sad.

If your trying to steal a gold watch, or something worth load, go for it, your life, but stealing a few mags, how very very sad You da man!!!

Besides, if your THAT desperate to buy them, then you can buy the mags a few months after for about 50p in local markets etc....

Just don't see how a mags worth stealing/getting arrested for. If your gonna steal, at least make it worthwhile...

MWA haa haaaaa I work in tesco and I usualy am the wee self serve assistant

quite funny the things people try to get away with and its usually old people who push their luck

Most recently as in last thursday 2 men scanned through £400 worth of stuff and briskly walked out whilst the 'self serve supervisor' was busy with another customer

CHING CHING

Neither man ever been found and the police have no idea ...

Actually asda pays relatively well, well if your a student/unskilled ect, obviously its nothing if your skilled.

And everything someone steals has to be accounted for the more people steal the less the staff get for there yearly bonus, it has to be made up some how.

(work in asda btw incase you didnt guess)
so yes stealing a few magazines does effect people its also quite sad, theres better ways to get thrills in life lol.

My neigbour works in the swansea asda, and my brother who works in tescos earns more than a women in her 30's and he does exactly the same job.
So i cant see the pay being all that good tbh.

And ive never heard of bonus's being affected by shoplifting.

If thats true thats pretty lame on their staff, tescos dont do it.

yes they do most large chains do, we only get paid a bonus if we have hit the profit target, obviously profits are effected when people steal items from the shop as they have to write this off as a loss, effecting the profit of the store.

Less profit = less bonus, pretty simple.

Supermarkets do not have the ability to print money if things get stolen, the more things that are stolen the less money is going into the store, to make up for this the bonus isnt as high.

And basic pay is 6.13 odd above minimum wage, not bad for students ect.

And tesco do exactly the same thing, perhaps there not as open about it, but its pretty obvious in the grand scheme of things the shop floor workers are not that important, the shareholders, bosses, business all have to have there share of the profit before the bonus is even considered.

Considered tescos and asdad have stupidly hig profits.

My brother works in the neath abbey tescos, and that store makes a profit in the millions each week and last year they lost a reported 1 million in stock, considering they make millions each week 1 million to them is peanuts.

Bonuses are effected by shoplifting, wastage, damaged stock and all sorts of things. I used to work at Waitrose and the signs asking you to turn the lights off even said "Switch the lights off, you're burning my bonus". There leader boards saying which departments had the least wastage and all sorts as the bonus available to everyone was a percentage of the profits.

Nope profit.

He said theres a board in the staff room with a graph on profits etc and the superstore he works in is in the millions each week.

End of the day they cant think very highly of their staff in the first place if they take the losses out of their bonus's,so yes stealing of a company like that really sounds bad to me.

Lucky anyway i work for a bloody college and i never get a bloody bonus.

So you advocate stealing from a branch of Tescos where your brother works so he gets less/no bonus?
I wish you were my brother!

you really have no idea how the business world works do you, not having a go or anything but you are quite naive.

And just because a store chain makes a high profit doesnt meen they do not care when 1 millions pound is lost thats stupid, stores have to hit very strigent targets with regards to waste, energy consumption, item loss, reductions, wages ect its foolish to think 1 million is peanuts to them.
