We did a magnificent thunderstorm in the middle of nowhere though
Good holiday

MatG...I dont know where you went but the prices you are quoting for beer etc is a joke...
I have been all over Turkey and have never paid more than 3YTL for an Efes...some places its 2YTL or 2.5.
I have been to Turkey and done everything you did....ate out every meal everyday...plus had to pay for sunbeds at the beach on £300 for a week. That was eating in nice restaurants too.
Thank you!!!!!
Plus he said he went to a non-tourist resort?
I have went on days out to non tourist areas and ate out...one place I paid £5 for a 3 course dinner with 2 bottles of beer!! The food was top notch too!
Maybe I went to a different country to you then Let me check...... nope it does say on my ticket that last sunday I came back from Turkey.
The resort as said before I went to was called KAS
Mark when was the last time you went to turkey?

I was in Turkey from the 6th June till the 14th June. So just over 6 weeks ago?

If Kas is a turkish resort...then surely with wages and costs of living being lower than the UK you would expect the prices to be a lot lower. Its 99% always the tourist resorts that are the most expensive areas as the locals know wages and the cost of living back being higher in the UK means things seem cheap in their country??

its still a tourist resort just not full of english, its a nice place it maybe be an expensive place in Turkey for all I know??, but the majority of turkish people there seemed happy to spend there money so it cannont be all that expensive otherwise they wouldnt pay it
At the end of the day I am only saying you will need to take £400 you are saying £300. If I was going with someone elses parents I would make sure I had too much not just enough. I can only go on the holiday I have just come back from simple as that really

1. Just come back from Kas in Turkey, this is mainly a Turkish holiday resort and not full of English (perfect!) so they dont rob you blind like they do in the very touristy resorts. Turkey did indeed used to be cheap but its not any more. - Right you say they dont rob you like the very touristy resorts?? So are you not saying that those other resorts are more expensive? Have you been to these other resorts?
2. The beer is the killer really 5TL for less than half a pint - so around £2.50 per half a pint - not cheap! We didnt have many maybe 6 glasses a day at the most. - The exchange rate is 1 YTL to 43p! 5 YTL is only £2.15 not £2.50. A bottle of Efes is 3YTL everywhere which is around £1.30. A bottle of Efes is virtually a pint but in a funny shaped bottle. The bottle is 50CL...which is 500ML...which is 0.87 pints. See Below

3. You dont want to ask the girlfriends parents for money do you! Or to be tight all holiday because you didnt take enough. Oh one last thing if you are flying to Dalaman airport, on the way back either take food and drink with you whilst waiting for your plane or make sure you are not hungry! Duty free is reasonable but the food and drink is ridiculously expensive! Funniest thing I saw was a KFC bargain bucket 81TL - I agree with you about the airports...they're expensive. I have never seen anything for 81YTL though.
Thought I would clear a few things up.

you see there is a problem here, I am not that bothered if the lad has enough money or not to be honest. I gave my opion based on my own holiday as I thought it may help him.
Also I am not a child I dont need lessons from you or to be told by you in what I saw, paid or indeed drank
If you have the time to go through my posts and scurtanise each point then maybe I did spend more money than you and I bet I had a better time

I went to Ankara last year and don't remember it being expensive. Evening meal for two was 28TL, I gave the guy 50 and he was my friend forever. This was just some roadside kebab place though, nothing fancy.
The airport was expensive. Don't remember the price exactly but I remember a can of Coke skinting me.
Really depends on exactly where you end up. I could go out in Liverpool and eat for a couple of quid or 100. Doesn't mean I'm lying either way, can we get past that.

Most people who have been to Turkey (away from CS) are confident that £350 will be more than enough for 9-10 meals out and a few evening drinks.
