If he got ripped and he left then thats his choice. I get ripped into all the time and people think im a kunt but it doesnt make me leave, Just gives me something to do at work.
At the end of the day, Ibstead of listening in school he decided he'd think of play with Corsa's and angle grinder. Instead he's a failure, lives in a caravan and makes a shit car shitter.
All the people that said he had the balls to DIY, Blah blah blah It wasnt hard what he was doing, we could all make our cars shitter by doing cowboy jobs on them. If he had done something spectacular then great but he just made a shit car shitter.
Life goes on and another liability will be along soon.

Sorry but that's bollocks. Not everyone is accademically minded. I know loads of people that didn't do that great in school but put something in front of em that's technical and they can have it done in seconds. Just cos they can't spell very well doesn't mean they're thick, people's brains work differently. My brother is completely accademic, as soon as he needs to use some kind of tool he's stuffed I'm more technically minded. I did alright in school, mainly I think because I do tend to pick things up quite well but it was never really my sort of thing. If you give me something mechanical and the tools I need to strip it down, I'd take it apart, rebuild it and get a good idea of how it works, that's just the way my mind works.
Saying he couldn't be arsed in school so played with a Corsa and an angle grinder is utter bull, he may of tried his hardest all the way through school, you don't know. I know people that left school without any qualifications and I can safely say they haven't ended up living in caravans Some of em have probably been more successful than than a lot of people that have been to uni and all the rest of it.
It's becoming more and more rediculas recently, so many people go to uni nowadays that some people actually look down on people because they haven't been to uni. I've never even considered the thought of uni, I couldn't see a point for what I want to do, I never properly went to college. I left school and got an apprenticeship in motor vehicle repair. I actually prefer the idea of getting into work straight after school. In a lot of cases now it seems uni really is just an excuse to not get a proper job for a few more years and instead just do the minimal amount of work to get them through the course and get a part time job so they've got money to enjoy themselves instead of actually putting the effort into their uni course. When you consider the debt as well, that's sounds like a huge price to pay to be able to do next to nothing for a few more years imo.
Before you all kick off saying you go to uni and you put the effort in and you do x amount of hours working too, I know there are a lot of people that do put the effort in and good on you if you do but if you don't is it really that good a thing getting to say I went to uni and you didn't?

I was right, No way.
P.s I never went to Uni or college. My point was he's blaming a disability on him being a dipshit.

People don't polish these heads cos they aren't meant to be, turbo'ing it without changing the compression ratio's will kill the engine. Side exhaust was silly
BUT
You make me laugh and I like your attitude to give it a go

I'm going to be controversial here but I don't see being able to weld some gangster mods on your car excusing the poor literacy.
Mike B has indeed made a point - you can quit education but still discuss things in a clear and comprehensive manner.
mad mike and Mike B are roughly coming from the same place in terms of technical ability - so how come mad mike types like a five year old?
There are too many people in this country saying it's OK to be under par. The annoying thing for me is that it's not actually impossible to be both good technically and be able to communicate effectively. You don't need to be a snob to create a coherent sentence and you don't need to lose your ability to spell in order to hold a grinder.
I also think giving credit for a 'give it a go' approach is at best condescending to the simpleton and at worse bloody dangerous. Giving credit for botched mods wouldn't happen unless you decided that mad mike is somehow inferior to anyone else. I'm quite sure if any regular member posted up some of those mods they would not 'get credit'.
So who is making the judgement? Those asking for clarity in the posts or those telling the good little boy that he's really good at fixing cars?

Id say People accept it on an internet forum, because its an interent forum.
I done Gcse english literauture in school, i passed with a B grade and i cant spell that good tbh.
I dont see the problem if you cant read what hes wrote ignore it,calling him names and making fun of him isnt going to make any diffrence.

Which is why I don't make fun of him.
I don't think it's a good idea anywhere to be lazy, internet or otherwise. My standpoint is that if you are not used to writing properly then when you need to, you won't be able to. Or at least it will be more difficult to do so without the experience.
My spelling is actually not fantastic, why is why my effort to find correct spellings needs to be good. I could be lazy as well and you would see me spelling things wrong. In fact I do spell things wrong in posts, hence why you'll often see posts of mine edited by me. It's not about being perfect straight away, it's about trying to uphold some standards and practice and promote good language for years to come. Otherwise our children won't have anyone to learn from, and their children will be even more goosed.
Sad facts are, while the internet is the only place that you actually talk to people in written form, it's actually the most important place to get it right. You'll not get practice anywhere else in this day and age. Particularly if you're pursuing your dream of being a master engineer having left school at 14. Good luck with that, I hope the person reading your job application is as indicative of the system as you are.
(footnote - I know some very rich builders who don't actually care about spelling or grammar. They also work 12 hour days and 7 day weeks and are very brave and audacious in their business ventures. You need that.)

I agree with that, im not the worlds best speller but I go out my way to make sure what I type is at least understandable. Anything I struggle with I find a way around it to correct it.
If you type like a muppet your going to get treated like one.

Credit to you for doing something to further yourself. I get annoyed at the people who can't be arsed, then just blame dyslexia.
It's not dyslexia. It's idleness.

I know alot of people , including myself, who could cut a scaffolding pole in half and weld it to my struts. There's a difference in doing it and doing it well.
Again for the exhaust and turbo, If you had done it well or it atleast didnt look like something out of scrapheap challenge then i'd giv you credit, But it doesnt.
Again, Your not grasping the concept of wanting to and being able to, I can afford 12.50, I just dont want to be a 'member' of a Corsa club. Iv got 9k car and your welding poles to an old Corsa, which says alot about affordibility.
