My GF is off to uni in September, she is going to Demontford (Leicester - which is about a 3 hr drive away )
My mate says he's had 4 gf's that have all gone to uni and they have split up whilst they have been away
Tis going to be mighty tough

I'm in exactly the same boat, girlfriend is off to Manchester in September.
Not sure what i'm going to do, dont really want to move up there as i have pretty much free living at home, and more money then i need coming in.
Really not sure what i'm going to do, kinda makes me feel as if i'm going to be sick reading some of the posts in here

Tough thing tbh, I would have been exactly the same about worrying whether you'd get through it without (either of you) cheating etc. I agree 100% with Ash, you should prepare yourself for it not working out, if it does then bonus. But you can't sit there 24 hours a day when she's gone and let it wreck your head or you'll go mad. I don't think I could stay with someone who was away meeting new like minded people every night, mostly based on my own loose morals
If it were me i'd try and speak to them as little as possible

Bullshit to that
If thats how you lived your life on everything, including job prospects, oppurtunitys etc then you wouldnt enjoy anything.

Quoted for future use
I was talking from my own perspective btw given that I wouldn't be able to stop myself thinking about her cheating , I'm not saying everyone is the same

Worst topic heading ev4r.. etc.
How do you cope when your BF or GF moves far away wether its work/Uni/other and you see them < once a month and hardly hear from them? What arrangements do you have to see them?
Has anyone had to end a relationship (or even a friendship) due to this?
Was it mutaul or was there some sleeping around involved? (Road Trip)
My head feels like a sack of spanners at the moment, GF is going to uni in September and if I don't get my insecurities/paranioa out of the way its going to end sooner rather than later
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Havent read the whole thread, but my mates boyfriend moved away for Uni for 3 years and theyre still together. Shame like, as I was dying to slot her.

Dont mean that in a bad way, just being realistic, soon as she is miles away then you have to start making the relationship work instead of it just functioning by itself if you know what I mean? If you can deal with it, the milage, the cost, the distance, the lonelyness which can all come with a relationship like that then go for it mate.
