I easily beat 2 R32s in my old corsa GSI XE. The guy was gutted when I told him it was only a 1.6

Sadly its a heavy arse, think the BHP/Ton works out at (edit) 163.04bhp/ton. Then you've 4x4 losses to take into account!

I think they quick enough on the move, people with LETS etc remember which car is standard?

+ve Look great, sound great, comfy, toys
-ve Not very fast, not actually much fun

Exactly....Turbo the R32 & it will be a different kettle of fish!!

It deffo needs more power, VW was never gong to give it more as a production car!

Well i got wasted by a new r32 comming off a roundabout so the XE boys who think they have a chance are just

Rember the punchy midrange and the thenominal grip can generate

Guy on my brothers campus has a supercharged R32 it trully sounds amazing!

we did alot of work on a supercharged one, cams, injectors, mapping, nitrous, was awesome! sounded great too!

Old VR6 as in the Mk3? That was 2.8/2.9 V6, different engine totally.

for the r32?

the supercharger route is the way to go, you can buy diy kits aswell which is nice

Lets face it MK4 Golf are very nice cars to drive etc..not much steering feedback etc but from a comfy/quality/easy to drive aspect there ain't many cars that match it.My Audi A3 was the same.

Combine that with a smooth V6 engine plus the sound and great looks and outright speed isn't important although i doubt they are slow.

I'd love a blue one Mind you with all the Tax bollocks going on i'd get an S3 and tune it up and get some decent suspension and brakes on it.
