TBH, just edit the title to change "cat" to "rabbit" and no-one will get all pissy about it.
A dead cat isn't the end of the world, is it? it's not like it's a kid, you can't buy another kid.
The chances of hitting someones rabbit are slim though. Wild yes and it's a little different. There is no-one to report it to and no emotional attachment. I'd personally still stop no matter the animal and see if it was at least ok.

I've hit more rabbits than I have cats.
Whos to say the cat belonged to someone and wasn't just a random stray?
Also, if this cat was owned by someone, it might not have a name/number on the collar, I know my brother's ones don't, so how could he report it anyway?

I'd put more money on wild rabbits being hit than cats though.
No name or collar would make no difference to seeing if the animal was hurt or not. You don't have to report a cat but you could see if the RSPCA or take it to a vets if the situation warrants.

I don't think you do though if it's not yours. It could be chipped and the owners traced. They are not heartless and must have contingency money for that kind of thing. I wouldn't know I aint taken one.
Oh I have passed a stray kitten that had cat flu to the RSPCA before. They collected it from ours. No charge.

I don't hold animals in particularly high regard but I still object to it being made a bit of a joke particularly as the outcome was probably worse than the driver guessed and the owner will now have to live with that.
Lets be right, there was a video of me cutting a pigs head off, but it was bred for food and killed humanely and no one was sat up waiting for it to come home. Different thing.

I disagree, When all the piggys get back from the market etc. What about the little piggy that stayed at home? That piggy will realise that the piggy you killed hasnt come home.

Of course you killed it if it hit a tyre. An animal like that can't support the weight of a car so it'll usually sustain sufficient injury to die. Luckily, you've so little understanding of anatomy or indeed how death would be caused in such a circumstance, you can post an almost jovial thread about it.

Accidents happen but I'm disappointed by how little sympathy is shown for the animal and perhaps more importantly the owner. Don't bother replying if it's just to say he can't do anything. Shut up and look even a little sorry would be my first suggestion.
