Got to disagree with you there. Had mine Just over 3 years now, and mines never broke down or had and reliability issues.

of course, cant beat a good sleeper
i'd much rather have a shitter with nice engine over a uber clean motor, with a slow engine
not saying whittey's is slow, as it's a 1.6 sport, but it's too clean for me, as i hate cleaning car's anyway

Swings also lack a glovebox, you just get a tray
Mine was full GSI spec by the time it went

Eckmcmanns car looks stunning and must be soo much fun, i'd have power over looks anyday, unfortunatley due to only being 18 i could never afford power at this age so had to go down the styling route do the swap whitte, you'll love it

Do it Whittie
Even tho it's a sleeper Eck's does look mint, especially for the age.
If you can afford that and the Cupra get it done.
I'm all for performance over looks, only reason I'm still driving a 1.2 is cos insurance was fairly heavy the first 2 years and now I've just not got the money. So upto now I've been getting it looking alright, then when money permits it's gonna be XE time with the money I've spent on mine, mainly the brand new Comps and Bilstein suspension I'd rather keep it and throw an XE rather than a full on sleeper, but it still doesn't look that special. It's gonna be a bit more stealth sound wise too

id be surprised if it wasnt rusty as fook underneath
also if your using it just to get to work and back keep the 1.6, as someone else pointed out, its worth more, will be easier to sell etc

THe question here is why would you need a run around to get to work if your buying an Ibiza?
Surely an XE which "may" have reliability issues and cost a fair bit to insure will be plain silly?
If you isist on two cars just keep the sport.
