I think they wind everyone up, However:
1. Most have resined to the fact theres nothing we can do - revolt against the government?
2. Prices are going to be ever on the increase, not decrease - I believe in another 20-30 yrs or so crude will be so expensive driving fossle fuel powered vehicles will once again be a luxury for the well off. By 2015 we should expect £2 a litre possibly - its just the way things are going to escilate with a finite resourse thats getting used up like nothing on earth there will need to be an abrupt stop some time.
3. We live in the UK, its normal that we get ripped off.

It was a valid point. I cannot get to work without a car and the company i work for cannot run without fuel.
Ben has he head up his arse when he speaks of fuel. There are a few others on here too who probably don't need a car so it doesn't really affect them.
What can we do? I really don't have an answer. But if fuel prices keep rising i'll be better off claiming job seekers the amount of money i'm paying out. I'm not just speaking of fuel when i make that statement, my council tax is fuckin stupid too.

what did people do when petrol/diesel wasn't around?
at the end of the day, i do realise we've been through an industrial revolution and because of that, it's very difficult to turn things around as most companies now rely on petrol/diesel to go about their ways of work.
but...surely there is a way to get around this e.g. looking at renewable energy sources etc.
like my work, they put up 2 or 3 wind turbines that generate so much energy from wind (free) to power a lot of the plant. it only cost them to build the structures and now they are making huge profits from it.
i understand where you are coming from when you say about needing it FOR work e.g. commuting, but there is always a way around it. a lot of people who work in london seem to get around it with trains/buses.
i guess it's hard to understand it for people who use there car/van for work.

also, i paid 105p for normal unleaded yesterday, i must admit it took me by suprise when i looked at the price, but at the end of the day, i needed it so i paid it, nothing i can do about it so i just have to get on and no whinge about it.
your salary goes up each year with inflation so it doesn't have a very bad affect unless you work part time i guess

Wind turbines account for less than 0.1% of the UK energy needs, think how many you'd need to make any significant difference! Fossel fuels not going to become less mainstream or cheaper any time soon. Even Bio diesel isnt all that green when you consider the rainforrests that have been destroyed to allow plantation.
Fucked I tell you

What about sausage based fuels? I'm sure the fat could be used to run diesel cars

Yip I used to work as a contract surveyor for a large Plumbing & Heating company & the cost of running a van was added into every quote.
