Most RS2000s were FWD though, only a few were 4x4, I mean the mk5/6 ones, not the 1/2s
I dunno, I just don't see the Escort Cosworth as a 'hot hatch', but I'm not sure what I'd class it as

Cossie is a hatch but its not a 'hot hatch' its a 4wd turbo'd nutter and also not something most people would use everyday either.

The motoring press would say or rather have said williams clio without a doubt for the era stated.
Tbh the dates you have picked are kinda lame as it just misses out the late 80`s early 90`s greats. but by going to 2001 you are putting late considerably techincally superior contenders in such as 172`s and CTR`s.
Should have kept it simple with the best hot hatch of the 90`s, then definately clio williams without a doubt.
The only way to rate them properly is as an all rounder.

Also the escort cosworth should not be included in this category, you have to compare that to cars such as the pulsar GTi-R, lancia delta (maybe), Celica GT-4 and possibliy classic imprezas.

93 to 01?
Why the odd date range? Is this to miss out certin cars that are better than the one you suggested?
