What about this? Loads of extras on it, Irmscher kit, leather etc. The wheels look a bit small with the deep splitter, but you could change them in time.

I've seen a few others which aren't SE2's but they just don't appeal to me as much

Plus I really dislike the wheels on that with the kit, don't really want to be spending money on making it look better

Going to view the one from AOC tomorrow morning, it's quite close so makes sense to have a look around one & hopefully have a drive of a 2.2

1.8, just serviced inc timing belt, 12 months MOT, low miles, full Irmscher kit, looks in excellent condition

If it weren't a bit late I'd be on the phone right now!

If you're happy and can afford to fuel a 2.2 then i'd go for the 2.2.

I really like the Astra Coupes. Good choice!

Good luck in finding one Matt, i'll look out for the pictures thread

I really like my 1.8 coupe. Good drive, smooth, decent fuel economy, not expensive to keep, basically everything that's already been said!
An SE would've been nice but found mine pretty locally and it was everything I need. Although I'll probably be changing it next year. I'd have another coupe too, an SE2 or Turbo are on my list of possible replacements.

not read the whole thread but if you go for the 2.2 then be carefull. they are a bit of an odd engine, a lot that we get on the dyno do well and get standard figures but a lot only make 135-140 bhp and similar torque figures.

I might be wrong, but if that is an SE with GSI front on the 51 plate, I'm sure the lad bought it salvage and repaired it. I might be completely mistaken here but check that.

Cheers for that Ian, I'll ask him & see what he says

Im not going today to buy a car so I'll mention that I'll be HPI'ing it. If that is the case then it's overpriced on two counts
