Colin now I think your trying to convince yourself.

Go with the Golf as its what you wanted.

I'd go for the fabia as they are nicer to drive IMO but its up to you no one else.

I got about 34 in my 328i coupe mate.They are pretty bad around town though

I know of a gti tdi 150 fsh on a 53 plate with 52k on the clock in silver the guy will take 7k no offers. Not seen the car yet and dont no if its 3 or 5 door but my m8 is on about buying it to sell on for 8k

Im not to keen telling people i drive a "skoda" tbh. Nice car tho also found a few trick bits after reading the manual.

Defo the Fabia! The Golf's boring, predictable, slower (sorry edited, the book figures of the golf are better but I believe the Fabia to be better through the gears and have a better 1/4 mile time) and too dam heavy. The VRS has charactor

but PMSL at all the people saying the golf because the other one is a skoda

they have one countless awards and are part of the VAG group, there the same car

Agreed, I only find its people who don't know much about cars that think its no good "Because its a Skoda" It is indeed a very good car, hence why it holds its price so well.

Skoda. Little rockets. Good on fuel too. Mate has one and he drives it in quite a spirited fashion yet it always does more than 40MPG, usually more like 50
