you ordered a FMIC?
what other mods is it running?
A car running a K03 doesnt really warrant a FMIC imo. Better to sort the breathing first, miltek sports cat/downpipe and full system would be a better investment along with a CAI.

FMIC ORDERED and should be here tomorrow
Surley it will only benefit from cooler temps..
Ive heard the car throws up all sorts of fault codes if a sports cat and downpipe is fitted before stage 2..

Nah, sports cat and downpipe doenst throw up any codes. Infact you need that before you get stage2 map.
I use to run a bmc filter, cost me about £150. What a waste of money.

Now run an open cone green filter, cost £50! Alot better than closed filter.

Jas i know youve only just got it, but do some more research on your car fella
On a remapped ibiza the standard SMIC is prone to heat soak but you have to offset that agaisnt the increased lag you will get from a FMIC. I dont care what any FMIC manufacturer says about no loss in boost pressure etc, with that turbo and boost levels I really dont think its worth the £££. Unless you are traffic light drag racing all day long in the summer I cant see intercooler heatsoak being a big issue.
I also disagree with the comment that an open cone filter is better on these engines. My arguement being one of the heat hoover angle which is definatley an issue in this application.
I am now on my 3rd car with the 1.8T engine, previous being ibiza cupra and an octavia VRS and found the best solution for induction to be the dynatwist CAI. Tried open cones, didnt sound that much difference but on hot days definately felt sluggish.

Yes it will
but it will suffer from increased lag, poss loss of boost pressure.
Not worth the £££, hassle unless you go IHI.
The k03 turbo is about as big as a postage stamp and makes about as much wind as a ferret squeezing out a curry fart.

See every1's different when it comes to tuning the 1.8t. Most of the guys running big power have open cones.
As for FMIC, i fitted a one on my car with standard map and just blueflame turbo bk system and their was no increase in lag.

Ive read a fair bit about the Fmic's
and I thought Id get one fit this month while I got offered it cheap..
And il more or less be ready bar a few things for a turbo upgrade when the funds are right.
Many people have fitted a fmic when in my posistion and found its only benfitted them..
Im not paying 700ish for the fmic by the way seth.. not even a fraction
so I can see why you think im wasting alot of ££

proven on several friends 20vt's that an open cone is a better filter than an enclosed one on those engines. dyno results have confirmed this, not random guesses

Still running manual boost controller aswell, only holding 1.2 high up the revs. Need to get that apexi fitted and get a good 1.4bar to the line.

I thought open cone filters were frowned upon, seems to be the case on seatcupra.net, never did any before and after testing with mine, just went on how the car felt and it just felt more sluggish although i guess there was no conclusive way of me knowing tbf.

Ive always thought the open where for sound but prone to heat soak...
although alot of people recommend the open filters with a heat shield on seatcupra.net

You wont be equal or quicker from a standard start, a properly launched impreza will dust you everytime as you light your tyres up.
Have you looked into changing the turbo? the K03S is a good cheap upgrade, totally changes the way the car drives, holds boost to the redline and doesnt tail of at 5krpm like the K03 does. I have driven remapped cars running the 03 and the 03S and can tell you a massive difference on the road.
