other things like exhaust, it needs 2.5' bore turbo back minimum really, 3' would be ideal. id be fitting an oil cooler if you dont get one with the engine, std one is fine from an xe/let, you are better to get the proper shafts and hubs, you can use a frontera intercooler for it, theyre bang on for the job and sometimes appear on ebay for cheap enough. you need the spacers that go in the bottom arms, to attach the tie bars underneath the bottom arm, dont necesarrily need the ones that lower the tie bars from the front panel, i aint ever had those. you may need to upgrade the poundage of your springs, although running the gaz theyre probably fine. you will need better brakes atleast the v6/turbo flavour to begin with. if you get a turbo engine that has the multi-belt for alt and pas, you will need to convert the bottom pulley, change the alt, get the alt brackets and adjust for the manifold, ive seen it done with the multi belt but its just too close for my liking.
i dunno, there is a fair few quid in it to be fair

5 grand to insure a corsa LET that youl most probably write off
Have you ever been in or drove a corsa XE?? I'm 99% sure if you have you would think that an XE is most definately for you.

Correct i don't, but i also know that you dont put a LET in your corsa to go for a gentle cruise with your mates in their 1.1 paxos tbh.

Yet again you have me wrong, I don't "cruise" with mates. I go for a drive when I want too and don't usually have friends following.

I know your not listening to people that say don't do it, but this is what I would do, not what i'm telling you to.
£5k is a lot to insure a car for, let alone a Corsa. So, i'd buy an XE, and convert it to that for a year or so. Its still going to be quick, compared to what you're used to atm. The insurance is still going to be around the £2k, but you'll be saving £3k or so for which you can use to buy a LET, rebuild it so its fresh for when the conversion time arrives, and possibly do some tuning, or the safety stuff Nic has mentioned.
Going from an XE to to a LET is still going to be a major buzz in terms of acceleration etc, i know this as i drove a LET Astravan the other day. (I really want a LET now! )

he didnt ask for peoples opinions on how much insurance he pays or how much its guna cost, read the title he asked if anyone had a guide.
I cant justify people spending hundreds of pounds on jeans but people still do it. its life. people will pay lots of money for things they want.

Your comment is welcome and one I will value towards my decision . I'm not even paying £1,000 for insurance and its my first year still

please please dont do it if its going to cost 5k to insure
build it up over time, get it spot on, dont spare £££ on the engine, by the time you've done than, insurance should be cheaper as your older

Do the same as me, buy a LET and learn to rebuild it yourself. Im hoping by the time im done i will be able to afford the insurance of whatever car i put it into, thinking either mk4 astra or corsa b. But thats a plan for the future ..

Thats your opinion
Thats what I thought when I got an XE Astra at 18, and I only payed £2600 a year!! Wouldnt spend over £1000 on insurance now ive matured and realised its dead money, but £5000 is discusting money for ANY car!!
