really happy that the ban has come into place. its a dirty disgusting habbit tbh and fair enough you may call us "smug bastards" C2RL R, but what right does a smoker have to cause health damage to non smokers via second hand smoke. NONE. end of.

not getting into this argument again as its been done loads of times. i just dont like being preached to by a load of self righteous fuckers. i'm a decent person with one bad habbit and people make a big deal of it. bet some of you have done stuff in the past that makes smoking look like fuck all but you'd never speak of it so dont try to make me look a cunt.

so i go into a club full of smoke, what am i meant to do? not breath?
i think smoking has killed some of your brain cells
i hope you die a slow degeneterative death of lung cancer just like i watched my grandad die in the spare bedroom at my parents home over many months, when you witness the pain and disease that smoking can bring maybe youd understand
everytime you swallow its like someone sticking a knife in your chest, you cant breath. move, roll over or even get out of bed for months, until you eventually die, one of the worst ways of dying i can think of, drowning in your own tar ridden black lungs

dont just assume i haven't experienced the suffering smoking can bring. and you really must be a dick head to wish a slow and painful death on another person. save that kind of remark for child rapist and the like.

to be honest C2RL R, its probably just easier for you to shut up about now seeing as your not doing yourself any favours!
maybe noone "forces" us to breath other people smoke, but its a fact of life you dickless wonder that we DO have to breath! smoking is a luxury (to some) not a right! breathing clean, fresh air is a right!

So your happy that you dont breathe in second hand smoke, but your quite happy to pollute the earth, breath in the harmfull gase's a car emits and have no thought of how it affects other people, isnt that the same as smoking?
ive quit smoking,i applaud the ban, just dont like non snokers attitudes thats all

no, smoking is a dirty habit that can be prevented, and is a higher risk to cause illness than driving, also driving is a necessity, not a luxury, you cant even compare the two

Driving a car is a dirty habit, which is ruining the planet we live on and ruining the quality of our lives,so dont i have the right to live a safe enviroment without the aspect of being flooded out of my home ?
Driving a car is a luxury according to many who cant afford it and according to the goverment? Im sure everyone could use public transport walk cycle etc making a car not that much of a nessesity?
how come you say you have the right to breath clean air,i feel the same so does that mean they should ban all vehicles?

Again, another ignorant aresehole shows there face.. How you can compare smoking to driving a car is beyond me, people like you are the scum of this world imo.. I take it you've never experienced a family member or friend dying due to smoking.. If you had then you would not have that shitty attitude towards it.

shitty attitude towards smoking? and not lost anyone due to smoking,i lost three of my grandparents due to smoking and as they practically brought me up,i think i know what loss is.
and how does smoking cause more death than cars, with cars you dont just have the aspect of the harmfull gases polluting the planet and giving you illness's,you have the fact of getting run over and killed,or having an accident? so do you think they should ban cars for fear of lives an polloution no they wont
Cars and smoking are no diffrent,no matter how you defend it they both cause a lot of deaths.

i have no problem with your attitude towards it its the smokers who throw the toys out the pram that annoy me, the ones who only think about themselves and stress about not being able to smoke while having a pint and a fry up, and bring in there human rights into the arguement but couldnt give a toss about non smokers.
none of that was aimed at you in the slightest mate, and there is some strong opinions from both sides in this thread!

liek i said cars are a necessity to a lot of people smoking isnt, the risks with cars and smoke are a lot less than directly in inhaling smoke from cigs

You could go to a non-smoking club.
Don't get me wrong, I don't disagree with the ban, I just think it should be down to the landlord really.
You'd know which pubs were smoking and which weren't, much like you do with other types of bar, and you don't go in them (or maybe you do? )
I think it's a fantastic idea in restaurants, I totally agree with it there, but in a quiet village pub, if everyone knows it's a smoking pub, I can't see how that's a problem.
I don't even smoke BTW.
