A years service on the Civic would be cheaper than a gearbox on the GTi

id place a bet that a civic vti with some good sus would equal a 106 with same sort of sus around the twisities!!!
my civic chasis is sold, and ive been in a few tuned ones, and they stick better than most cars ive been in, withihn the sort of car range were talking about!

you need to watch the top gear vid to see how well a proper driver can drive a 106, you cant get the level of controllability out of the civic, you cant issue understeer and oversteer with just small throttle changes etc
a civic VTi wasnt even featured

The only bad thing I recall from civic I used to drive was the steering was a bit light and didn't give much feedback, it used to go where I pointed it but can't really say I had it on the edge ever.

106gtis are difficult to drive properly and fast, its not forgiving at all, thats why so many young kids crash them, but if you can drive them properly they are amazing

Civic will leave the 106, i have mates with both and the 106's have no chance against the civics, plus the civic has soooo much more tuning options. easily see 190 - 200 Bhp with minimal work.
Mates Civic with downpipe, decat, intake (and stripepd out) and i cant shake him till over 80 - 90mph

very little in it at all. 106 also has tuning potential,

nemo il disagree with you there, they are both very similar performance wise as standard.
iv been up against a couple on a 1/4 mile 106 was getting mid 15's as were the civics

it's making me mad thinking about it seriously
if only peugeot wouldve timed theres properly, instead of adding a payload and passengars, or just used the paxos figures it wouldve saved so much hassle
its to put the 106 in a lower insurance group so its you who gets the benefit here
