Cameras arn't a deterrant, but they don't stop things do they....
Robin, maybe not paid to watch people on lunch, but they do. If a hot girl walks past, i've sat there and watch the cameras follow them. Hot girl, short skirt, low cut top.
We are in a big brother culture. Next they will be telling you where you can and cannot smoke because they are in charge of your body.
Oh, hold up...... (and no i don't smoke, but who are the government to take away the rights).

I don't see the problem with CCTV, maybe if you're not a dodgy, shifty looking badger, you've got nothing to be worried about?

They werent a deterrant for the people who pulled a knife on my sisters boyfriend, but they did help catch the 2 people. If they werent there they'd still be at large.

That's a bit unlucky.
At least there was a policeman there though, even if it wasn't much use in that situation

As I say, both parents work for the NHS (1 looks after the equipment, staff, supplies, etc, not exactly sure, the other looks after people with mental disabilities) will say exactly the opposite.
Put it this way. NW Kent trust had broken even last year, just about covered its costs... So what to do..
I know, we'll merge NW Kent with mid kent trust who is millions and millions in debt and still going down. Then we'll get rid of all the nurses and doctors from the NW kent region (becuase they have broken even) so save some money.
It'll vary form area to area, it seems your dad may have been lucky, but really, the NHS is in serious trouble and its going to be a very very long time before they can even think about getting out of it.
All down to labour.
Personnally, i would much rather go like the US system, pay for medical insurance and have private healthcare. Im glad im on Bupa, will try never to go to an NHS hospital.
(They also shut a joint 700 beds in dartford and gravesend to build a new hospital, with only 350 beds. This doesn't include the tens of thousands of extra houses built in the area as well, so the numbers have gone up, but the bed numbers have gone down.).
Everyones got their own opinions anyway, no-ones right but in your own minds.

Agreed there. The nurses, and doctors i spoke to were under so much pressure.
Meanwhile, mr Retard joe bloggs who mearly has to push a bed/trolly round to an x-ray department can't even do that right.
Its letting all the sub companies in thats runied everything. All down to labour and its new policies....

same as agriculture really, under labour there is new laws/legislation released every week.
E.g In order to recieve any funding you must cut your hedges to a certain height, but it can nly between between august - october.
There is so much rediculous paperwork/facts/figures to meet its crippling the country.

Ok, so if it's so bad, was it bad already, when labour cam in to power, or was it working perfectly and labour have fucked it all up?
Not sure if I've worded that right

ha ha, i get you.
I don't think the NHS was ever "great" but that was due to lack of funding initally.
But then it changed, hospitals had "quotas" to meet. They were given limits on how much they had to spend, then had to get underneath that quota by an awful lot.
I can ask my old man about it, he went into great detail a year or so back, but it'll mean me having to listen to a lengthy boring subject
SO in answer, it was bad, but now its much much worse
Plus not to mention all the extra foriegn people the NHS now has to cater for.
When my old dear went back to uni for a bit, she constently told me about (NO RACIAL HARRASSMENT MEANT) how the black african (not UK) people got their visa to do the course, then would sit there and just talk and be on their phones the whole day not paying attention to anything, meanwhile the white females on the course had to suffer becuase the lecturer was powerless to kick them out (due to stupid racial rules).
Also, the country has gone "politically correct" mad, again, forced onto us by Labour.....
Next up, the depleated fire force than cannot accept any more applicants from caucasian white's as it need more "ethnic groups" to join the fire force..
Who came up with that rule? Labour.......
So rather than refill the force with willing skilled people, they turn them away and give the job to some guy who doesn't really want the job, doesn't know anything about it, but becuase the "quota" has to be filled, they get the job anyway.

i can say that my familys business was better off, hence why ive been forced to go out and work in IT
Subsides were paid otu better, there was half the legislation, We imported less so prices for british food was more in favour for suppliers/farmers.
During the Foot and Mouth the farm 3 miles away had all its sheep killed, we didnt get the disease and had to feed 800sheep for a year without any compensation or the ability to sell them due to being quarantened so no income for the year.
also sheep recover but due to cost the government refused to pay out and instead killed stock.

a great deal of my family work in our NHS-and they all say it is on its arse. at our hospital they are closing wards and bed numbers are dropping. its normal fo rpatients to be TREATED in the corridors with dividers around them. and everyone who you talk too says in the last 7-8 years it has declined dramatically.
fuel has gone up. when i started driving 5 years ago it was 71.7 per litre. now 20p more. wages ahve gone up yeah, but cost of living has tripled any wage increases. u live like a criminal if u word things wrong, because people from other countrys get more rights apparently. the list of this countrys fuck ups is absurd.
put it this way. i can absolutely guarantee you, if any of us went to france as a dosser, we would not get put up in a hilton hotel for a week by the french government, we would not receive a credit card on with £5k to sort ourselves out. we would get kicked the fuck out, and told go back home. yet our country seems content with allowing immigrants in and housing them etc. and before people moan that there country is poor etc-i dont care. i pay my way in this country and all i see for the money i pay is chavs pissed on the street corners, more demand for money out of the honest tax payers, wank councils with pathetic ways of spending the money, foreigners commiting crimes and getting away with it. this country is on its arse big time. the party who can look after US first rather than them will get my vote, but no party aside fom BNP has the guts to say what british people really want.

In 2000 when i bought my corsa it used to cost me £26 to fill right up.....
The last time i filled it up was in 2005. That cost me about £36-£38.........
Bubble, I also saw people being treated with a divider around them. There was also a guy who had a broken pelvis who was asked to leave the hospital a week early as they "needed the bed".... Literally 10 minutes after he'd got up, the bed sheets were changed and a new person was there.
I'd also like to add, that my old man was in for 2 slipped disks in his back. He was due an operation. In 4 days, he had 3 different people on his ward die in front of him...... Why was he in the same ward as these people coughing and spluttering and at deaths door, when all he was in for was a fairly major op???? THREE people in 4 days, right there in front of you, dead.......... Would you get this in the USA on private healthcare? Or at a BUPA or similar hospital?
I like your anger in this matter. As you say, when immigrants come the UK, get £5k, a free phone and a room in the Hilton (happened in Dartford also), then get off scott free after nearly beating a man to death becuase of "legal complications."
If we went to any of their countries, we would have to adapt to their culture. Here we're having to adapt to their cultures in our own country.
I have NO issues with people coming to this country and wanting to work, but then if you want that, LEARN ENGLISH FOR ONE, and adpot the ways of this country, don't expect us to repect your way of life. You wouldn't if we came to your country.
Thats it, im done now before i get in a real bad mood about this sh1tty country and its god awful government.
Funny how an awful lot of english people are leaving this country to start afresh.

The problem with immigration here stems from that bloody great tunnel connecting us and france
I agree it's a problem, but there's an easy way to solve it.

Aye, we need that OJC command general to setup a post at the tunnel.
TBH, i don't think its the tunnel, i just think its labours policies and the fact everyone looks at the UK and thinks, "oooooooo, free healthcare, free money, free house, why am i in my own country".........
And why should they be when our government gives all our tax paying money to them?
Im getting angry, im leaving...

The tunnel is an easy way in for them though, it's harder to row a boat across than it is to walk, I think it's just too easy with a nice, covered walkway

its not the tunnel as any EU citizen can walk into the country legally and stay, i say they should have 3 month work permits and if they ont meet requirements then send them home.
As i have always said, the EU will use us as an immigration centre

If they made boats out of cars or rowed/swam across, I'm sure people would be more happy with their presence, at least they'd have made an effort
