Alot of the time it actually starts as light hearted banter like at the beginning of this thread and people take it too seriously resulting in how this thread is now.
If everyone pronounced words the same the world would be a much more boring place

I will leave liverpool out of my places used as I live here and am familiar with it but:
IMO london makes me feel quite unsafe due to the layout and the fact anyone can fuck off onto the tube with your belongings and be off within a few seconds.
I agree alot of places have their bad areas etc but most 'city centres' in northern cities I wthink you will find are as safe as southern ones (that doesn't include london)
BTW I like differing accents, It intrigues me and I like copying them, I take the piss out of southern people mainly in defence of the north wouldn't it be boring if we all spoke the same?
I do howveer dislike the fact southern people consistently turn this conversation into an arguement about quality of life at every opportunity though.
