i probably shouldn't admit this on a public forum, but I agree with you Steve that cars should have clean arches. Especially when they are body coloured! I wouldn't sacrifice ride height for bufty arches tho

you'd be surprised how much crap comes out your archs if youve never cleaned them!
for all the weight saving freaks theres probably a could few kgs of mud stuck in your archs

i would say draw the line at any part of the car that is easily accessible should be washed with each wash, that includes wheels archs for me
can't you give the little korean guy who lives in your arches a bannana to clean them for you?

my car is black and the wheel arches are black. yet at the furthest part away behind the wheel it is a disgusting orangey/browny colour when i clean it. therefore i would rather have my arches all black instead of having a gay browny/orange colour peering through.

I cleaned the arches on my old 1.1 106 a few times... I had 15" alloys on it, unlowered... anyone who's seen a 1.1 106 or Saxo unlowered on 15's will know how high they sit . The arches were easily accessible... and with the car being white, the painted arches were quite noticeable when clean. Quite satisfying actually , getting the shite load of mud out of the arches.

It took me 4 hours to just do the driver side rear and front though, I use quite a small brush so that I do it properly and don't get paint all over the components.
