Robin, how old are you?? surely insurance on a 1.6 can't be that bad??? polo 1.4 16v 6n would be nice, but i'm not going to say what i'd get with your budget!!!

I hadn't thought about a Diesel Corsa tbh, if they're like the 1.8 (or any of the facelift's I've driven, then I'd probably like one.
Is there much in it?
1.7 can be "boxed" to 125 brake which gives you 1.8 power, but 240NM of torque... which should be fun

I'm 20 Steve, but I have no NCB.
The thing with getting another Corsa is, it'd be harder to convince my mum that it was a sensible idea
Considering I borrowed the money from her to get this one, she seems to think she has a say

From past experience, i find the best way round that is to lie like a bastard .
Claim cheaper insurance (you won't need to mod it cause everything comes on it - alloys, lowered suspension, better interior, body kit etc)
Better spec (ABS, Alarm, Aircon etc - might have them already though?)
Cheaper fuel bills
It's quicker,
Probably get one still under warranty aswell, which is always handy .

This particular one had 20k miles on it and the guy wanted £7200. You can get Lupo GTis for much less than that!

because he's a bit of a nob like that, he thinks it's the best car ever, and if I got one too, he'd never stop going on about it
I'd rather have a Lupo anyway, I am badge concious.

What would you get if you had 4 - 5k to spend, and reasonable to insure (under a grand), no older than 1969?
My shortlist is -
Trans Am/Pontiac Firebird
Camaro Z28
Tatty Corvette
Other suggestions if you have any, I'll consider pretty much anything
How about a nice Mustang Rob?

in other words gay!!!! I can never understand why someone would pay more for the same thing!!
oh well your choice. i'd get a polo gti or lupo but for that money you'd get a mint low mileage example of the best car in the world.
