The last of the E30s were Evos, (sort of, they were actually called Sport Evolution) they had bigger engines and more power, along with a few bodywork changes.

Get the M3!!!!!

You wont regret it. But maybe consider the 3.0 M3 as opposed to the 3.2 evo

I've got an E36 320 Convertible and would love an M3. As a model the E36 is well built, handles quite well and feels solid although mine has a few creaks as theres no roof. For a 3.2 they're quite impressive on fuel economy as the engines are so well enginered...25 mpg is achievable i'd say. Servicing will be higher than a bog spec BMW but as it probably wont be visiting BMW it wont hurt that badly. As an everyday car they have a decent ish boot, confortable seats, room for the family, good build quality and will put a smile on your face everytime you put your foot down with its effortless smooth power. My car is a 1994 but has things like one touch windows, and wipers that stop when you pull up at traffic lights which impress me for a 12 year old car. I think they are a top buy and am not biased in any way shape or form
