problem is rob that your engine was very badly built, the fuelling was miles off, bottom end was hammered, wiring was causing lots of faults and the pison rings were holding virtually no compression.

Yeah I find myself explaining this to people all the time. If you have a knackered engine its not going to be producing the power it should. So many people I know talk about beating this car or that car, and I tell them that a) the person wasnt trying to race you or b) their engine must be absolutely shagged

I've never had one decent play with any other cars of similar power. Very disappointing.

A MK3 Golf GTi or VR6 (not really clued up on them) tried it on with me once and that was close, but I edged him.

Thats it.

swallow your pride gents, this thread started out well but soon turned into,a heated debate about whos beaten a vts(theres only about a hundred of these threads already posted). If he says he beat a 1.6 16v so what fair play to the lad.Why does it have to be a slang match about cars that will or wont keep up with other cars. The drivers may have been poor you dont know.

it had been getting VERY hot, probably due to the fact it was running very very lean possibly as the fuel pump wiring was running 2 seperate relays. the bores were scorched and the piston rings werent in a good condition either, possibly suffering from slight piston slap as the bores were slightly oval, timing was also out and the wiring loom had so many chopped wires and wiring faults..... it wasnt in the best of health and probably not best to use as a comparison performance wise.

FFS this REALLY pisses me off. I must of been seeing things then. Come down kiddy and i'll prove it to you.

Like I said phase two's I can JUST catch, and I mean hardly anything in it, but every phase one I raced I have beat, easy.

Did you ever think i could be a better driver than you?
