Ecker, yeah it is very frustrating, I wish her all the happiness in the world and if she's happy then I'm happy for her - but deep down I just want her to tell me one day that they have split up, not for my own gain (although I'd probably shit myself if that were to ever happen!) but for her own benefit as she can do sooo much better and it's sad to see such a waste

Girls don't always deliberatly aim for bad boys. I went out with someone who seemed nice and then wasn't but seemed to drag me down with him - and before you know it, you haven't seen your mates for ages, you can't wear or say what you want but you feel stuck. Hopefully - one experience like that is enough to learn from.

Actually another observation in response to how you see the situation with this girl and your mate (him being boisterous etc), maybe he is very very different when it's just the two of them, I know a few people who act very differently infront of other people and towards there partners when in different company....

You may laugh but I do actually believe that all women (NO exceptions) have something in their pretty little heads that can cause them to become mentalists to varying degrees, in most women this will sit dormant and won't ever be a problem, but in some it get's triggered by something and they just lose all rational thinking and go beserk.
