See the thing is, road safety is all about speed these days, but that could have happened at 60 mph, and she would still be dead. She obviously wasnt a capable driver at the time, and was driving irresponsibly. I dont think that means people should suffer a 60 quid fine and three points on their licence for doing 40mph in a 30mph zone.

I think the fine is down to hittin a ped @ 30 they less likely to be killed than @ 40!
still its a bit steep imho!
