No, his car is quick because he sanded the airbox on his car smooth and fitted a piece of washing machine to it

fitting a set of cams isnt gonna make much difference, if they arent gonna be able to stay with them a set of cams aint gonna do much, and remap would only be worthwhile on turbocharged cars

I don't think that the Police would fit different profile cams to thier cars. Surely that woulc just bugger the engine unless they did loads of other stuff to the engine?

The police Omegas have about 40bhp more than a standard MV6, from a remap and cams.

I think it's less to do with making them faster, more to do with giving them more power to cart this around all day:

still a waste of money imo, might be a second quicker up the strip but for chasing cars where large distances are covered it wouldnt be worth there time or money.

waste of money? do you think the police pay retail prices?

I bet it costs them 200 notes to chip and cam an omega...

money well spent if it helps catch someone who they wouldnt have with 40bhp less...

And my point (as said above) is that its not a case of being quicker up the strip, or being faster than other cars on the road, it's to cope with the added weight of a patrol car.

T5s aren't shy as standard. If you add in the boot stuff, radio, video and lighting equipment, then add some extra torque to carry it all, you're gonna have a car that probably performs as well as a normal factory T5.

Probably a promotional vehicle. They'll take it to shows etc to raise the police's profile/make chavs think twice about racing I guess.

Exactly my point on the first page.

Edit: Sorry Ed, just realised that sounds like I'm being harsh. I'm not, just reitterating my point.

This is a fair point if it was actually what it was used for, but it isnt, I've seen it before. West Sussex police drive around in UNMARKED evo's, and go charging up peoples arses on the M23 until the person in front of them speeds, then they flash their blue lights and book them for it. Absolute joke what kind of justice is that? Encourage people to speed and then penalise them for it!
