I think its due to the fact it stands him at about £20k & hasnt had a good run out of it, countless problems etc etc!! Also the 205 track slut was much better & more fun & only cost about 1500 all in!!

part of the problem is the corsa is so far away from being a trackcar you have to throw so much money at it to get it half decent, you dont have to do this in some other cars as these manufacturers actually spent time maiking the handling etc decent

End of the day, a corsa is not gonna make the best track car, with the added weight of yours and the shit you have to do. Strip yours, sell the bits put to standard and sell car.

Buy an ak style 205 for about £1-2k save some money towards a new bike.

You need to remove the emotional attachment. what's the point having your mint corsa getting smashed up in a gravel trap/going to the bother of turning it into a track car.

Guys guys guys, Im not sure why you keep saying about the gravel, i've already said those issues don't bother me. If i crash, i crash, it won't cost much to sort, maybe a few bumper fixings and a bit of paint, god dammit, im not poor you know....

I've also said i don't mind trying to polish a turd, to me, thats part of the fun.

Colin - Yeah, but to turn my car into something, it'll cost me very little, and its a standard engine, i won't have anything like the issues AK has, but i'd approach what i was doing differently as well.

The car is a tonne in weight, thats lighter than an Astra GTE..... And i've got a good 50kg+ to remove from it..

IF i go the "keep the boot, exhaust etc" route, it'll need.... Those were teh issues i was having trouble with. I still don't "want" to sell it really.

Wiring - Can be sorted...
Interior removed - Free.
Seats out, sold, then buy 2 new lighter ones - Maybe £100 odd after selling mine..
Brakes - OK for the time being.

Oh, and i've got to fit the external oil cooler back on....

I don't want a 205, i like Corsas, that why i've had mine 6 years.... If i spent that on a 205, it really won't buy me the bike i want at all, so no point.

Daimo - the car is fun, and I am probably blinkered by the hassles of my car.

BUT

My eyes are wide open to the cars natural abilty compared to a 205

AK, this is true.

Thing is, if i wanted a true track car, i wouldn't go with anything like that and would go for something that handles right and has the performance as standard..

205 would make a much better track car, but im trying to make use with what i've got for minimal outgoing.

Esp as i've got a £400+ suspension kit that i've had for 2 bloody years and its only been out the box twice

Im not blinkered that Corsas arn't the best track car, but then thats the fun, making something out of what its not...
