I'll admit I was really sceptical about the Ipod and the massive praise it was getting. Then my sister got a Nano and I was mega impressed with it. For starters it's tiny! Also i'm not sure why you'd want a battery life of more than say 6/7/8 hours, when will you be listening to it for that long?! If it had a longer battery life it'd have to be made bigger, thus losing some of its appeal. iTunes is also piss easy to use, i'm pretty sure I could teach my mum ,who is useless with technology, how to use it in about 5 minutes. Maybe some people do buy it for the wrong reasons, but it's still a very smart piece of kit. The scroll bit is also brilliant, it's so easy to change tracks, change the volume, browse pictures etc..... I've changed my tune about Ipods after actually using one.
When I'm out skiing I have the thing turned on for around 9 hours straight. In the cold the quality of the battery is very important. iPods just don't cut it.
Anyhow, this thread wasn't really about whats better. It was about having an iPod thrust in my face when I don't want one. I don't like them, I have used them so i have made an informed decision. Finally, they aren't compatible with my new car's onboard computer...

I have a Punto on order which runs Windows Mobile. It's hardly a plug for an MP3 Player...

Blue&me system? - thought that hadn't be released yet? and even then i would worry more about having microsoft windows controlling your car than slating ipods (there arent brilliant, but atleast they dont BSOD! )
And the older Gen Ipods, you used to beable to access them like a normal harddrive (im sure you still can?)....
still though, suprised you went with a punto

I never said that. All I called it was a computer as thats what it is. It's powered by Windows Mobile, you have a Windows Start button on the steering wheel to get it going. At the moment all it does is music and mobile stuff. There should be some other accesories coming out for it in the future. There is no need to get all pissed off because I don't like iPods.

What's that supposed to mean? Me disliking iPods has nothing to do with what car I choose.
I stand by my decision. They are good cars, I like the way they look, they have good performance for a 1.3 engine and they are very economical.

I have 3,500 songs on my ipod, why the hell you you use explorer to acess them
Itunes puts them into album/artist/track name/genre/year/popularity, all the things you just dont get with explorer.
If i want a certain tune to play, i type it in the search box, i have it playing within seconds, just wouldnt happen with explorer.
