not really, thats the first time ive taken a phone abroad let alone a contract one. If you look at previous comments its a common mistake.

I worked for debt collection with a phone company, YOU WILL have to pay it back sadly but you can pay in installments mate maybe 100 a month

i think u also get charged for receiving calls, check on o2 website for your on going statement to see what ur individual costs were

Yeah, calls from anywhere to the UK from your mobile are always super expensive. When i checked with orange before i went away to the US i thought fuck that and just bought a pre paid calling card while i was in the states. The rates on those for calling the UK are pretty good, best bet for sure if you need to call while away

. While in another country you get charge for making texts/calls (super expensive) and also for getting texts/calls (expensive). So it soon adds up.

there was an investigation i saw on tv the other day about the high price of calls abroad and how phone companies fail to make people aware, may be an option there

im on o2 and if your noraml monthly bill is 30 pound or more then you get cheap call tariffis abroad, u shuda check before u went like.

mine was £450 when i came back from falaraki, i had just walked in the house too from the airport and i got a call from o2 saying i need to pay half now otherwise my phone was gonna be blocked till i payed.
i payed half then and half on next bill.
had just spent £1500 in falaraki too.

im sorry but i fail to see how someone can run such a high phone bill up just being on holiday. did you actually relax and enjoy yourself at all on holiday or did you just spend all your time on the phone?
