Isn't that the point they were making?

People carriers ARE designed for people in their late 30s/40s...and that age group may not be comfortable with the styling of the vxR?

vauxhall have done it for the sole reason that the zafira gsi accounted for the biggest percentage of zafira sales when compared to the other engines/trim levels, so the market is there, people who are 30/40 with family, but need a practical car often want something quick and lairy looking

is that a random guess? no way GSI is highest selling zafira, or are you saying, more people have bought a 2.0 GSI than a 1.8 club, or a 1.6 club?

Vauxhall have sold more Astra VXR's to over 60's than people in the intended demographic. Old people aren;t as boring as people would like to think.

well said ed.

Jules, how many of the Zafira GSi's have you seen on the road? there are a lot out there! it is a very popular car, particularly to the early 30's generation who have young kids but still pretend they are in their 20's. Here in auz, people have been screaming at Holden to have the hot Zafira, its an undiscovered market, which has just been uncovered by Ford, who have put the 350bhp XR6 Turbo engine into a 4WD Territory. its a 7 seater.

What I can never understand is they complain about Vauxhalls being bland and boring so then Vauxhall go and make VXR's and they complain that they are too lairy and in your face Really cant win with them

Yeah it's pretty gay how TG have started making crap up to fill the show
The caravan thing, the building the kit car - all very very fake.
Can;t it go back to being the old Top Gear which was enjoyable from start to finish? Currently it's 50% enjoyable 50% cringeworthy

I find most of it enjoyable TBH. The part I hate is when they have a star in a reasonably priced car. They chat about shit for a good 10-15 mins. Half the time you don't even know who it is for a start

Topgear is a great show, if you want a review watch 5th Gear. The 2 go well together IMO.
