give the people a chance to integrate then wait to see the change. this day wants to be alcohol free. whats wrong with an alcohol free environment? u always hear on the news about the state of teen drinking, drink driving and drink related deaths.
they want no gambling, so that means no 10p machines - yes, 10p machines are a method of gambling. i dont see a problem with this.
no music, as hard as it is to believe, there are some who believe against music.

Thats what makes people angry...
I see it some other way,
why don't people get angry when some muslims hire a hall for a party?
They haven't been granted it for free (it's been hired from what I read up)...so what's the fuss? The management shouldn;t have agreed to it or are they better thinking people who see no problem in it to allow these Muslims rent and go in there to enjoy a day there where there would be no alcohol etc...thus adhering to their beliefs unlike some Christians who don't at all (well those whom I know)
Next day, these same Muslims are on the streets with their business just like any other British people, whatver the religion and mix with them..
A place is available for rent, some people rent it to get some stupids start saying stupid things? or show their true colours?
But one things for sure:
the comment about the bombing them, that was low...and in no way am I condoning anything, this kind of hatred is both ways it seems for some and that leads to things like the 7/7 attacks...
Benitez once said: Mourihno is always talking about Liverpool, why? because Mourihno is afraid of Liverpool

BTW I'm not a British, but a Mauritian and a Muslim

I see how your thinking, but the christians also do the same by hiring things out for parties, both practice it, what everyones saying is if we tried to do the same, people would say we're racist.

i think the main point is, if we hired it out and marked it a christian only day that would be conceived as wrong by other religions and would create an uproar

Or sponging off the state and claiming fake CSA in order to get family tax allowances, single parent benefits etc....
Exactly...these Muslim only days only adds fuel to the fire that these people WANT to live in our country however dont want to integrate themselves at all with our people or our ways...
That is taking the piss in my eyes...
your question was: what would be the uproar if the Christians did this?
answer: none
why, these people are British Muslims, like British Christians, in my eyes
Yes but they dont have British customs...
yes we do, binge drinking, fighting and football

Jizinho, the christian day, i as a muslim would have no problem with it.
other muslims? i cannot say, i am sure some would have the same views as some of you today, and to them - shove the muslim day link in their face.

Yes sorry Mark they are on order from demontweeks
abdus, I take my comment back about you missing the point, I didn't read one of your first replies, thats that cleared up, I have nothing against other religions at all, mainly because I'm not a believer in anything, but it's the actions of the minority which make me think, but the main point I'm putting across is.... would there be an uproar if MarkM asked for a christian only day, and I think there would be, from the asian communities.

As a Muslim, I will say that we (well for me) admire other religious people (whatever their religion) for their conviction/devotion
I really don't have anything if tomorrow some Jews/Christians?muslims?hindus etc... rent it for a day...
What's the big deal?
When you start thinking racist, then ask yourself who is the racist...

I'm athius (sp) I believe in nothing, which means my opinions are unbiased. I just say things how I initially see them, I'm always willing to be corrected, I'm not an uptight person, very laid back and willing to listen to constructive viewpoints, such as yours and abdus, it's interesting to gain a different view from the alternative following.

could you propose an idea as to how a christian day would be different to a normal day? am interested to know.
if it was purely "christians only" everyone else excluded, that may be seen as a problem by anyone.
the muslim day, if i read correctly and others have pointed out, is not exclusive to muslims. it just has boundaries to which muslims adhere to, so if u can tolerate those, then go ahead and enjoy a nice day.

People would go on a ride, then pray to god about how they are greatful for god putting people on earth to build the ride they've just been on? special portals for people to confess when they've just thieved candyfloss.
I'm just using MarkM's statements as an example really, any sort of day in general which excludes certain people.

You appear a nice person, I'm sure that's the case face to face, but there is bad sections of people in every category, it's the minority which makes these issues appear more boldly.

and its the mistakes of those minority's in any society that are picked up by the majority and used as ammunition.
