Lol ok fair enough, it IS speeding but the road was empty, no children where/are about, it's a nice sunny day, no animals were hurt in the testing either.

If it was wet then the extra 2 mph over the speed limit that I was doing might have caused me to skid uncontrollably

FFS just because a speedo CAN be out, doesnt mean it IS out, it also could be out either way. you say a person watchin couldnt tell speed car was doing, just as if youre speedo was showing 35 and you were really doing 38 you wouldnt be able to tell, TBH

no no no. you clearly havent seen that advert.
at 35mph, you are 60% more likely to kill a child if you hit them at 30mph
therefore, with a bit of simple maths
35 - 30 = 5
60 / 5 = 12
12 x 2 = 24
you are 24% more likely to kill a child at 32mph, than at 30. even in the dry

Hence why I do stick to the limit exactly spot on round busy places, but on an empty road with a perfect clear straight line of vision 2mph is doing no harm. Sorry but you can't argue that.
I didn't want this to turn into a random debate about speeding, it's meant to be a rant at random old men

but it wasnt an empty road, there was an old man
and if your 24% more likely to kill an kid at 32mph, i bet its a higher percentage of killing a pensioner at 32mph

in this instance, you are correct, the 2mph did no harm, but what about a 3 year old on a trike coming out from behind a parked car? or a dog? then the 2mph makes a hell of a difference. the speed limit is there for a reason.
TBF, in residential areas, there is no need to do more than about 25mph anyway.

I agree, but like I just said...the road was 100% empty, not a single car either parked or using the road. The only person was the old man.
