So would alloys be counted as performance inhancing if they're small and give better handling?

Did quotes for my 1.2 and a 1.8 SRI worth £6000.

21, 0 NCD, Pass Plus, Shit Postcode

1.2 = £1,543.84, 1.8 = £2,028.13

Around £500 more than tesco for both.

your ripping the piss abit with the suspension there mate, theyre not daft enough about the handling.

If you have a serious crash then it all gets inspected and youd be aswell buying the vaseline!

to a certain extent you'll get away with it for kits and minor things but for performance and handling it really aint worth it!!

I think insurance companies take the piss anyway....I rang Tesco (my current insurer) and told them I had fitted a Thatcham approved Cat 1 alarm and they basically told me it was regarded as a 'luxury item/enhancement'!! And would not alter my poilcy....okay I thought, then luxury items liek alloys shouldn't affect my premium either...right?

exactly mate whereas sometimes its necessary for a cat 1 alarm, so whats the difference? why should one company find it necessary, and another think its a luxury item

Hmmm, Im with them but Im afraid imo they aren't great!!! Standard 1.2 SXi Corsa C - 1 Years Named Drivers Experience = £1400 F/C. With them as I changed the policy to this from my previous Corsa B HalfWay through the year and they also allow me at 18 to drive other peoples cars if necessary! Will try a renewal with them when the time comes, but I will prob switch back to Direct Line who quoted me £850 for my standard SXi me thinks!

im with quinn direct on one of the cars.

their customer service is absolutely shite, they cancelled the policy after 3 months without telling me for no reason whatsoever which meant i drove uninsured for a week! took 2 more weeks to sort the problem out, numerous letters, phonecalls, and eventually they admitted responsibility and offered a new policy. then tried to charge me an extra £140 for it becase i was no longer a new customer

managed to get them to give me a new policy for the same price, but I then lost my 3 months no claims I had built up.

when I tried to swap the policy onto a new car it was a joke, their online system showed it would cost just £270 for a full year for the new car. so I rang them and they said that the online system was for new customers only and that the policy would actually cost me £470 and the only way I could take up the online price was to cancel the current policy and start from fresh. so I did.

went back online within lliterally minutes and they had manipulated the online system to show the quote to be £497. how do I know this? because no matter what car I put in, evo's, cupra r, vx220..... all came out at £497. so whenever my details were put in it would always give the same quote.

I complained to the insurance ombudsman and quinn offerd a new policy for the £270 originally quoted and 2 months later im still waiting for my insurance certificate..............

cheap but totally shite. im not the only one that has had problems either. I actually reccomended them to a friend who took up a policy online and they offered immediate cover. he set it up on direct debit and recieved a cover note. 4 weeks later he contacted them to ask for a full certificate and they told him that he had never been insured as the online system had failed and his details were not recieved correctly and all people that had taken up the online quote with direct debit were sent a cover note but all policies were cancelled within 3 days and as they didnt have his phone number he was not notified.

dodgy as fook

rant over
