No...they have said that the holders will always defend it.
not at the expense of another team though, so Tottenham would still be in.
No you are wrong, champions WILL defend it no matter what the consequences... this has been stated on several occasions as people keep saying that Spurs could finish 4th yet only play in UEFA

after we won it last year and finished 5th there were rules put in place if it happens again. But another team from that country would not be sacrificed for the 5th placed team.

Yes, see
It is harsh but at least going forward the clubs know the rules, I agreed with letting Libverpool back in but again, not at the behest of Eveerton (despite the fact they threw away their chance just as SPurs/Blackburn/Bol;ton weill do if they take 4th!)

yeah, I thought I remember them agreeing to always let in the Champions at the first stages like with Liverpool. Never thought they would chuck the 4th placed team into the UEFA cup, bit unfair!

Imagine if we finish 5th and win the Champs League and bump Spurs into the UEFA Cup! FPMSL
actually, that wont happen.
It happened last year as were no rules in place for it happening. But this year UEFA said that no team, even the winners, will be in unless they finish in the qualifying positions in the league. So you could win it and not defend it.
I think you will find its the oposite. If the team that wins does not quality via the leage then they will take the final qualification place and the 4 places team would go into the UEFA Cup
Was a good performance by Arsenal. I think people should maybe start to think Why did Real play so crap...hmm now Juve played crap.... maybe its because Arsenal did not give them a chance to play. How much of the ball did they have in the opposition half - not a lot - why because they were closed down and tackled at every opportunity.
It was a victory of Youth over Experience really (which is rare) at the end the speed the young guys could still go the old ones just had no hope of keeping up

when Arsenal play THEIR style of football (quick football) we are different class, but when its more physical (like in the premiership) we arent any good

why wont they win it? because everyone thinks barcelona are better because they have ronaldinho and co? when they perform like they did tonight theyre better than barcelona imo some of the interplay around the box was phenomonal

you have got to be an Arsenal fan to say you are better than Barca
Even in my dreams I would never say Liverpool are better than Barca, and were better than Arsenal

nup dont support arsenal in anyway whatsoever, totally unbiased point of view. Folk get hung up on names too much in football i've watched a lot of barcelona and that performance tonight was better than anything iv seen off them. Yes barcelona play lovely flowing football but everything goes through 1 player, tonight hleb reyes fabregas pires and henry all clicked at the 1 time it was a joy to watch!

wow.
Arsenal, that really was a beautiful match, and a well deserved win, and with the midfield playing that well, i doubt viera is quick enough any more to get back into the Arsenal squad

What was the score at Anfield? What league position are you? Where are you in the FA Cup? Come back after you've won the Champions League
