Some people on here see a game of football in the completely wrong way, how can you say Bent played badly? His game is very simular to Owens, how often do we see Owen do nothing for 80 mins then all of a sudden he gets a high ball over the top he uses his pace to latch onto it and GOAL.
This is how Darren Bent plays so saying he had a crap game is a load of toilet.
Carrick, yes very impressed with him, Joe Cole, well I knew how good he was before the game, he just seems to get better.
When Wright-Phillips came on Joke, all of a sudden there was a urgency about England, Crouch again he will deffo be going to Germany because of what he offers as proven lastnight.
Rio Ferdinand, now where do I start? Crap? Shocking? His brother is better. Seriously this lads lack of concentration is a serious concern to me, he doesn't even do the simple things right anymore, should be a toss up between King and Carragher partnering Terry in the centre, Ferdinand is shocking.
Gary Neville also had a blinding game, we seriously miss his running down the right when he doesn't play.
Rooney, hmmm, apart from his endless running I do think that sometimes he goes for goal when he should'nt, there was a pass on for Bent that he should have played but instead Rooney went for goal.
All in all another impressive win and another impressive display against South American opposition.

Exactly what I was saying after the game last night, wonder how long until Russ accuses you of being biased

One problem with Bent, which i saw time and time again at Ipswich, when things dont go his way, when he doesnt get the passes he wants or misses opportunities, his head goes down, and stays down. Not very good, he needs to keep his confidence, and the season he's having at charlton, he should hold his head high is every game he plays.
early in the 1st half beckham played a lovely ball over the top to bent, bit unlcuky not to get onto it, but then those kind of passes stopped, i dont know why those are the balls bent loves to get hold of, more of those beckham type balls over the top, and i reckon bent would have bagged a couple.

I personally think Bent was playing his game the best way he could. If you watched him, he was endlessly making decent runs, except most of the time Beckham and Cole were doing the cross-pitch passes instead.

fuck off wanker.
I'll be first to mention if any liverpool players dont play well in the England side, I have no problem with that. I stick by the fact Rio made a fair few mistakes in that game, Beckham hasnt played well for a while now (I mean how much better did we look with SWP on the right!?) and Rooney didnt put the ball through on 2-3 occasions where bent was in a great position.
yes rio did make his mistakes but each time he recoverd from them
i dont agree with SWP on the right because you have overlooked the beckham and neville combo which matured at man utd and created half the chances england had in the first half
joe cole played outstanding! all round tho, i do think every player who played will go to the world cup

We were playing a team who arent even going to the world cup. Do that against France, Brazil, or any of the top teams and he wont beable to recover.

I think Defoe will go and Bent will stay, although I really hope it's the other way around.
**Or do I?** If Bent goes and scores a few goals that wins games for England. Come next season he will be on the coach to Chelsea..

Im not saying your wrong, you failed to mention how shit gerrard was however, glad we only had to put up with him for 45 minutes
WTF how was he shit, he gave 1 ball away from meory put a good few balls through aswell, whern he went through on left to cross for rooney, and also put the sweetest ball though on the right for bent iirc.
Talking horse shit, rio was absolute fucking toilet, neville played solid, rooney was a tad greedy and looked a bit dangerous (moody) at times.

Gerrard is a good player, but didnt play to his best last night, not putting in a good performance. i dont think it will stop him going to germany.

Its a toss up between Defoe and Bent, and its up to the pair of them to continue performing at club level now, I think thats the only squad selection dilemma that Sven has now, because Rooney, Owen, & Crouch are deffo going.

Even if bent or defoe go, with rooney, own and crouch there, they wont play much anyway

bent will get the shout over defoe, as he isnt getting a decent run in the Spurs team at the moment.

Another thing that worries me is if Joe Cole gets injured, who exactly is going to play on the left?

Joe Cole was far too tricksy for my liking, your not that cunt Cristiano Ronaldo so stop acting like it, he'll soon stop when he gets robbed of the ball and the opposition score because of it, dangerous play IMO
Good match I thought, Bent played well but finishing was poor...

Agreed, I would take Rooney, Owen, Bent (as good as Defoe but had a better season IMO) and Crouchio as he offers us a different option... Defoe AND Bent would be pointless an other than Heskey ( ) there isnt another real option
