Chelsea deserved to lose, Barca were the better team

Chelsea did have a chance a few weeks ago where they wernt playing at home for two weeks, which would of been long enough for them to re-lay a new pitch, but they chose not to as they are cheating bar stewards and thought Barca wouldnt be able to play properly on a PARK PITCH. Its funny how the pitch is now being re-layed this weekend

barca deserved to win. they didnt cheat anymore than chelsea did. oh... and just before del horno's stupid tackle that got him sent off, he did almost the same tackle on someone else. he deserved to be sent off.

get over it

Mikes wrong... It was always going to be a fierce encounter !

When you see the highlights again just watch Messi, he jumps up into Del Horno, goes down like a sack of potatoes and then looks at ref to make sure he saw !!

Ref was then crowded by all the barca players trying to get him sent off, cheating spanish idiots !!

no he didnt jump into del horno. this time watch it back with your eyes open. del horno totally misses the ball and takes out the player with a high foot.... thats a red card. especially when its the second time youve done it. he was rolling around also because he knew he had done wrong.

what i didnt like was when both players went down, del horno went down clearly hurt, and then there were 5 or 6 barca shirts run round him, shouting. no need for that IMO

Exactly, it was a complete joke.

We need stronger refs / video evidence, Barca cheated in trying to get him sent off, it was so obvious and when he did get sent off (wrong decision) the game was then ruined.

Shame it had to end like that really as it was looking to be a great game 11 v 11

Cheating buggers IMO

Agree with Gianluigi - However it was very clumsy and warrented a yellow. Red card is a joke BUT the tackle on Messi before was shocking. IMO before the sending off, Chelsea were being outclassed and had nothing in the final 3rd. Barcas closing down and positioning was top notch. Can see Barca going on now and winning the 2nd leg - money doesn't buy everything does it Roman?

he wasnt hurt at all. was just trying not to get sent off. he sprinted off the pitch after he'd been shown the card.

Nik - I agree Barca where looking good, great team to watch but as said earlier, there cheating / moaning lets them down !

Shame really that it ended like this.

I think a yellow card would of been the right decision on either tackle but certainly not a straight red, not in a big game like that.

Robben was chelsea best player, he was the only person who looked to frighten the defence

I agree Greg but thats football in this day and age, the red was a joke and ruined the game BUT I think Barca would have gone on to win even if Chelsea had 11 on the pitch for 90 mins. Will be interesting 2nd leg and if Chelsea pull it off then fair play.

Robben 1st half was crap, 2nd half he looked good but he certainly isn't the old Robben i used to watch.

When Joe Cole went off because of said red card it was a shame.

When Crespo went off for Drogba I felt like giving up, he is a complete joke !

Also I WISH Wright-Phillips would play more, he could of scared them BIGTIME.

Agree that Chelsea need to take the game to Barca at the Nou Camp and not sit back. Seemed like Chelsea gave Barca too much respect before the red card incident and were happy to sit back. Wright Phillips would have been a good choice to run at them, they aren't known for good defending.

No. because Roladinho made excellent viewing for the neutral fan. It didnt ruin the game, because chelsea went 1-0 up and Barca came back. It was a good physical yet classy game of football IMHO

Ruined yes but I don't believe it effected the outcome - still think Barca would have won it.

Thats exactly what I just said to Greg on MSN.

If it was a Barca player clattering into a Chelsea player, would it have still not been a red card?..........
