It could be worse - it's his left leg, not his 'kicking' leg, so it should just be a case of getting the bones set correctly then resting it til it heals, then building up his fitness.
If it were his kicking leg, then there would have been the possibility that he mightn't be able to play again.
Still, horrific thing to go through, hope he gets back soon.
This is untrue, the non-kicking leg is the one you need to look after, as it takes full weight more often, if your kicking a ball, what leg's on the floor?
Bones set to how much load is used, and if metal plated or pinned, bone heals weaker/thinner as the metal takes most force.
I see what you're saying but if you break your kicking leg, then what's to say it'll ever be strong enough to take the stress of a game of football? Your standing leg sure takes more weight, but over the course of the game your kicking leg is bound to take it's fair share of stress, and you also lead with your kicking leg in tackles.

I'm talking from experience, and if you lead with your kicking leg in 'every' tackle, then your an undisciplined player tbh, I do know what you mean though, the bones in the kicking leg tend to bend more as opposed to taking weight, but the healed bones after a break have more flexibility for months afterwards, it's weight stress which produces a second breakage most of the time.

If someone shot and it hit the ref and went in, it would still be a goal
I had a footy facts book when I was a kid...
This happened in a Brazlian Cup game... turned out 2 b the game winner

That's more to do with svens formation than anything else, plus i wouldn't say he hasn't done anything he's been the captain enough times

Like Beckham did in the Madrid derby, someone chucked an apple at him so he picked it up, took a bite, then spat it out

I think England have all the ingredients to win the World Cup, I just can't see them doing it while Sven's the gaffa, I think they'd play better with a 4-1-4-1 formation personally.
I think the main reason Brazil and Argentina always have good squads is the fact that they rarely have foreigners in their leagues, example being Corinthians, the only none-Brazilian players are Tevez and Seba and they are Argies. When a superstar comes along they usually get a contract with a rexognised european team, so they just wait for the next and play all the young players to give them experience.
