19k start rising every year
Way i see it, money is good, however perhaps not enough with the shit they have to deal with.
However, money shouldnt be an important factor. You join the police because you want to do it, not because of the pay.

no its still around 19k whilst training, then when your out of the training centre goes up to around 21/22 unitl your out of probation then annual rise as a pc
Havent been in long so was coming to terms with PACE, now SOCPA has come in. do find SOCPA easier and jusifying arrest is no problem really, you guys use the 'CHIP AND PIN' system for the nescessity test? ie C = CHILD or vunerable person? and H = obstrusction of HIGHWAY etc etc with each letter meaning something, thats how we were taught. Used to use 'COPPLAN' before with PACE
Forgotton whats its called when you use each letter of a word for a meaning???!!!!
Powers of entry are too differnet really.

TBH, the powers of entry are the only really major difference in the new powers, but i'm on traffic and therefore most of the suff i deal with no longer carries a power of entry
I don't really use any system but did used to go by the old 'COPPLAN' one!
Chris-SRI, well done buddy , need any help and i will try to sort ya out!

I've been considering doing this in 4-5 yrs for a year or so. Our area car driver when i joined about 4 years ago does it now and he loves it!
Hope you can afford to come out and play soon!

I've been told to do this 1st, it gives you an idea of what type of things you'll face & helps on your application

I'm considering applying depending on how my job goes at the moment.
Not sure whether to work in my own county, or apply to work in another county.
I'm particularly interested about going into armed police after the probation period.

Most forces require at lest 5 years in the job before they will even look at an application for being armed, unless you are considered exceptional
