You fcuking morons, Defoe could'nt hit a barn door if he was inside it at the moment, hence why he is being used as a sub.
Crouch, Rooney and Owen gives us 3 different options up front, Rooney as strength and the ability to turn nothing into something, Owen has raw pace and is a striker who no matter what will get you goals and Crouch is what the pair of them need to, he wins the ball in dangerous areas, holds onto it and then delivers the ball to the other two, not to mention his height which causes teams no end of problems, you cannot defend against his height, its impossible.

How can you compare the two? They are two totally different types of player, Defoe is a striker who likes the ball at his feet and running at players (then tripping over), Crouch is a target man who keeps hold of the ball in dangerous areas and can score goals with his head and his feet.
Putting Defoe on with Rooney and Owen is a pointless excercise.

crouch cant even win headers against proper defenders, hes a waste of space, and stealing a living.
and he constantly wraps his stalk-like legs around himself and falls over

I've never read so much rubbish in all my life. Let me guess you're one of the people who jumped on the Crouch bandwaggon when he didn't score for a bit. The simple fact of the matter is that what OJC has said is correct, Crouch offers so much more to England's attack than Defoe ever will. Let's be honest Defoe is just a poor mans Owen

What does Defoe offer though that Owen cant do better?
Pace? No
Teamwork? No
Technique? No
Finishing? Definitly No

Bent is better than Defoe, by a clear cut mile, Bent is faster, can score VERY good goals with his head and his assists for Charltown and Ipswich this season and the last is very impressive for a forward.

Heskey did'nt offer anything, the fact that Crouch is nearly a foot taller than most defenders is an advantage.

There both shit. THe style of play changes once you put someone like crouch on, plus just cos he's tall, he still gets out jumped alot. If his height was such an advantage surely he would have made an impact on corners by now.

You only have to look at the Argentina friendly to see the impact he had, for once Eriksson made a POSITIVE subsitution and took off a defender and brought Crouch on, look what happened.
