Classed as fraud.
You are supposed to clock in just before you go on the shop floor.
take it from someone in a supermarket management role (asda actually) that this can quite easily be used as a sackable offence. it can be treated as gross misconduct as it will be classed as theft (of time) from the company
if my colleagues did this i would certainly have a word in their ear. at the end of the day i pay them to do a job not to get changed.
and if youre manager has half a spine he will sign off the exceptions for you if youre working more than your contracted hours. but why should he pay you for getting changed. your bosses working day does not start as he is getting dressed in the house before he leaves so why should yours. if its that much of a problem for you then wear your uniform to work.
dont mean to sound like a whiner but this is a subject close to my heart cos its what i work in

Your right, everyone clocks in earlier though, even managers, they arent perfect, i dont see managers get told off for talking all the time.

carls hit it on the head. thats life im afraid. but then managers get shit of their bosses just the same as you will get off your boss
and the managers are salaried and not hourly paid. plus you will find they put in more than their fair share when it comes to things such as xmas and dont get paid extra for their extra time spent in work
