I found that taking up a sport is the best way to loose weight, i do boxing, i enjoy it and loose weight at the same time.

i used to run 1 mile every other day and then 3 to loose weight but soon becomes boring.

do a sport

TBH you'll only see a six pack if you have less than 15% Body Fat. If you want to loose weight you'll have to do a lot of CV work. No point in doing muscle building work if you do cv work as they're counter productive. CV work is necessary though to keep the heart healthy. Should try Spinning. This is the best CV workout there is and the most calorie burning. You should also work out how many calories you should eat per day, it depends on activity level, age, weight and gender. If you need any more info U2U me.

Basically you sit on a indoor bike and cycle throughout various different scenarios, like uphill climb, seated climb etc. But it honestly does take it out of you. I'm pretty fit (I'd say) and I was knackered, had to do a lot of it when I was doing training course to teach it.

gosh excercise is confusing

get a heart rate monitor and work out 55% of your Max heart rate and work out 70% of your max heart rate and go from there. Max heart rate is 220 - age as a general rule.

There's a more defined way to measure it than that :

220) - (your age) = MaxHR

(MaxHR) - (resting heart rate) = HRR

(HRR) x (X to 80%) = training range %

(training range %) + (resting heart rate) = (your target training zone)

x = average heart rate.

had one of my mens health mags with me today, was reading it over lunch..

they highly recomend doing cycling (stationary, on excercise bike)

heres what they say..

mon - 30mins flat terrain at 60-65% MHR
tues - 45 mins with 5mins fast pedalling
wed - 1 our at 65-70% MHR
thurs - 45mins with 5 mins fast pedalling at 65-70% MHR
fri - REST
sat - 1 hour at 60-65% then 10mins fast at a rate of 70-80%
sun - 90mins on hilly terrain (stay in saddle while climbing hills)

thats just week one.. get more and more intence up to week 4

for my age i should be targeting to stay within 70-80% of 150beats for Optimum aerobic training...

sound right ??
