Did he deserve to die? I'd say not.
Do I agree with the way the police handled the situation? Definately.
As mentioned above, had he been carrying a bomb, and not been shot, many more couldve died. Is that a risk any of you would take under 'shoot to kill' orders?
Couldn't agree more. Also people saying they were undercover. Whenevber they carry guns they have to wear one of those caps with 'police' wrote on.

First of all, he wasn't wearing a bag on his back, he had wires coming out of his pockets because he was an electrician, thats why the police shot him because they thought it was a bomb. Secondly, he lived in the flat above the one that was under serveillance, not even the flat that was being watched. And thirdly, he was from Brazil, he wasn't even a muslim. He could only speak a small amount of English and he ran because there were several plain clothed officers chasing after him with guns, and he had recently been mugged in London, and thought he was part of another mugging. How anyone can say an innocent person like anyone of us deserves to die is awful. He didn't deserve to die at all, he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. But the police aren't to blame either, as they were only doing what they thought was best. Its just a tragic accident.

If someones over here to live then they should understand our language. If you can't understand "ARMED POLICE - STAND STILL" then you're asking for trouble.
I doubt he was a very good electrician if he couldnt understand what people were telling him.

So he deserved to die because he was scared. You lot are pretty heartless. Imagine if it had been one of your family or friends. They have proved he was innocent, and i have said i don't blame the police, but no1 can say an innocent person deserves to die, just like everyone that got blown up on the bus and tube on 7/7 didn't deserve to die, it's the same!

The americans have a term for what happened - collateral damage - unfortunate casualties in pursuit of the greater good.
The yanks have just developed it to the extent where they shoot british tanks etc.

Unfortunatley true
They probably also invented many other phrases like, friendly fire, blue on blue etc

to be honest I think this should be made into an example of what happens to you when your visa runs out. he was here illegally and now he is not here - problem solved.

- what kind of an person would have stuff hanging out their pockets given the recent events? Regardless of their profession
- He spoke good enough english according to various papers
- he jumped over the ticket barriers in front of police
- he ran when told to stop by armed officers
- he was wearing a big winter coat
He could of done so much more to prevent what happened but he didn't.
No great loss

yeah i agree with vibrio and --Dave-- here, he was told to stop he didnt and ran even if it was a member of my family i'd be ashamed they were so stupid to keep running from someone with a gun who shouts 'stop armed police' especially considering the recent circumstances with it being on a tube and also in the summer wearing a winter coat with wires...
Vibrio's comment although harsh holds a lot of ground

Wonder if you would be saying that if it was one of your family... i don't think you would be some how, and he wasn't here illegally at all.
