from the sounds of things i think im just going for headwork, 4 branch-full system, and maybe a bigger throttle body and save the rest of my money for a tuned xe

wot sort of prices would i expect to pay when im 19 with no NCB, no points, no convictions on an xe

i have a TB'd 1.6 and i love it. but for the amount it costs, you could have the 20xe and insure it probably, and have the same power, and more torque (i think)

def m8 sort out before you do anything where you want to go with it, i ended up paying for things several times cos i started thinking
'i wanna make it fast enough to beat my m8's gti' and just got carried away
these engines are decent enough but i would say it wasn't that great before it got chipped, so i'd recommend that.
good luck with it.

Got a 96 imported wrx.
555 blue with what looks like a ra engine cos its got the fifth injector.
haven't a clue whats been done to it, re-mapped 10times by zerosports, so i'm guessing a fair bit.
really need to get it on the rollers and see what she's got.

there is only one rule to follow when tuning ur car...... small cc with big bhp = unreliable!

ive thought loads about tuning my 1.6 but it means spending over 2k for 150bhp when i could get an XE for £300 re-build it myself over time (as my gsi still beats alot of things round my area) and then plonk it in!
+ most of the older vauxhall engines are bullet proof

Fair enough I suppose but I quite like the challenge of squeezing as much power out of my existing engine!

for the time being i want just enough power to beat GTi's and VTR/S's.

the only thing that puts me off about XE's is the fact the they are heavy so ill probably lose handling

mine is a reliable 140bhp, it gets proper cained everywhere because its the only way it moves, standard bottom end with a 7200rpm limit, it beats alot of cars with a tied 0-60 of 7.14 and a 1/4 mile at pvs of 15.7

If you want a Corsa that beats VTS's GTi's and don't want to be spending millions copy Brosters spec.

i've been quoted under £3k for 170 bhp or so from a 1.6 with cams, verniers, headwork, weber alpha TB's and a custom manifold, 4 branch exhaust manifold and hardcore engine management.

its a bit steep, but it'll be ace

bit steep, id say its a bit cheap considering it involves an engine conversion
