sport16v - there is no way ever that i will sell the GT for 1k...

I bought it for 1k std with a engine in dyer need of a service/tune.....

I've spent well over 1.5k on the car, and think the 1.8k o.n.o is pretty fair for the spec/pace of the car

yeah..... but if it was a proper race in any gear the driver chose it would be alot closer...... in my opinion

lol even considering your point about turbos peak power the gt driver would really need to miss a gear change for you to keep up with him in a 1.4,,either that or he gave it to much revs for pulling away and was spining,,,a good driver in a gt would rape a 1.4

so my conclusion is either his car was a shed or hes a crap driver,,only way youd stand a chance would be round twisties and at 50mph speeds thatd be boring

If you threw £1.5k at the XE like you've done with the GT would the outcome be different???

you would never reach 190lbs ft torque with 1.5k on a XE, BHP would probably be more than 165 tho. so the gt would still pull away but the XE would catch it sooner IMO.

yes but...... i was driving the corsa.....

It took me about 60 attempts to get 5 14.4's in a row and quite a few to get the GT to 14.7

0.3 isnt much on the road.... plus my corsa was severly starved of weight

i swear some of you are retarded, i never said i beat it, i just said i gave it a good run for its money, plus how the fuck do i know, i wasn't watching his rev counter and i've never been in a punto GT, plus at the speeds we were doing and the fact i set off a lot quicker we didn't have a great deal of road for him to make it back and he might not of been ragging it. use your eyes guys and try a bit of reading before you come into town with guns in hand

as i didn't think the punto trash was likely to beat a 2.0 as far as i could see as I wasn't sure what their performance was like.
