Not a very exciting one

Thought I would have a go at HDR. Just done in Photomatix using a single RAW

Matt, I like how everything is in focus. Is that just from a small aperture, long exposure? Might have to have a go at that one day.

I've been practicing a bit more with HDR. This one is from a a single RAW, processed in Photomatix, then photoshop. Tried some noise reduction on it, but that seemed to take away the dirty feel of the picture, so have just left it.

I'm not sure I like that - I think the HDR is a bit too extreme. I think that looks a bit unrealisitic e.g. the wheel trims.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Looking back at it, it does look a little OTT and unrealistic. I guess HDR is more suited to buildings and landscapes, if not over done.

Ive yet to do HDR. Do the different exposures sit on different layers when you do it in photoshop? Id like to be able to rub out certain areas and play with the opacities.

If you use photoshop or photomatix, it merges the different exposures to make one single image.
If you wanted to play with different parts of the image, you would have to make different HDR images (i.e. one for perfect sky, one for perfect landscape) then play with that in photoshop

the CS resizer takes alot of quality out of images

either resize them to 600 wide or host them somewhere else
