I agree, i used to smoke skunk when i was younger but then layed off it when i was about 17/18, didnt really do anything for 4 years and then started up a few new habits in Ibiza this summer 
I still mainly just go out and get drunk because ive only got a few mates who are into drugs - the others dont like it at all (including one of my best mates)
I dont force them on anyone, and dont get myself into anymore of a state than i would if i were drunk (which is my eyes is more dangerous - starting fights, sleeping in dodgy places, crossing the road etc)
I understand that drugs arent completely socially acceptable, and that they are illegal, but someone doesnt instantly become a waster/accict if they have tried, or take drugs regularly. I do feel it is about self control, i can go out and get messy at the weekend, and still do 60 hours of work a week, my parents dont know what i get upto, nor does anyone at work.
If you let them take over, then you are just a weak person, the same as alcohol can ruin your life.

You'll find as you get older that drugs are not all that, i'd rather sit and get smashed on alcohol tbh. I have mates that smoke green every day and mates that sniff 1/4s of gear a night, you find that it's routine for them and there's no great enjoyment out of it.
Being drunk getting a kebab and going to bed then waking up with a hangover is better than any of that shit

Dont get me wrong i like getting wasted on drink, i havent done any drugs for maybe 6 weeks now. Drinking is much more of a social thing in most places, but there are the venues where there are alot of people bang on it, in which case its ALOT of fun, especially with some thumping house to sweat to

Never done anything else, and never will to be honest. This doesn't make me better than any other drug user (well ok it makes me better than the pricks who steal/mug to feed addiction) but its my choice.
I have friends who do coke/weed/smoke etc and i'm fine with them doing it but they don't cross the line and try and push it on me as they've learnt the hard way. I also don't let them put me in a situation where i could get in the shit etc

Dave, get yourself to the warehouse project in manchester, be quick though its only on until New years then it might not be on again, Immense venue, its under the train station iin an old carpark, got some immense line ups. I went for cocoon the otherday, bit of Sven Vath, Andre galuzzi, just what the doctor ordered. Ended up getting on the "room aromas" for a laugh amongst other party supplements. (wasn't funny the next day, train to sheffield at 20 to 6 in the morning followed by a tram ride and a walk.)

More non drug triers need an attitude like you. Just discussed this on another site, and some of the non ever drug takers attitudes were "i've not taken a drug ever, so im a much better person than you could ever be"
It was like WTF?????????

Some of my best mates do it, they choose to live their life how they want, if they want to live it like that then fair play, aslong as I know my place and they know theirs its all good. Like i say though they have enough respect for me to not push it on me (or it could be the fact that the last guy who tried pushing it onto me said "take it or i'll spike your drink" and ended up with a broken nose and 2 broken fingers)
I won't try it either because i have an addictive personality, i get hooked on things easily so i stay away from them incase theres an offchance i enjoyed it and got addicted.
Also true words spoken about death to those who go to far and steal/mug/kill to feed addiction.
