oh the irony
I am not 'small minded' about any of this. I have no problem with people taking drugs or even if they were legalised. My point of view is that the people who dont shouldnt payout to help those who decided to take drugs (i.e. by funding clinics, drug related illnesses, helping them get off in verious ways, etc.).

Ketamine is horse tranquiliser. Well a veterinary drug. We used to use it at our practice. Its heavily controlled. And its not actually illegal to have it on you.
A person who takes ketamine is a ket horse.

It is illegal to have on you, its a class C controlled substance. Just not illegal if you are licenced or whatever to possess it.

Off wikipedia...
Ket in the eye
On the 26th June 2007, a certain patient known only as 'Ed' was administered ketamine in the eye. His initial reaction was said to be painful, but as time progressed 'Ed' complained that his eye started to feel lazy and control over the eye had declined. Other effects were described as being 'cooling' and 'tranquil

Not exactly new findings, but maybe it will make people think twice about what they are doing to their bodies. Giving up was the best thing that I've ever done

One of the main problems is the word Drugs, it spans too many things. You can say the word and have a conversation, and one person could be thinking in the sense of drug = dirty smackhead thief, the other could be thinking of someone having too many pints, where the other could be thinking of the rereational user. The thing is alot of people don't understand the more recreational drugs, ie the amount of people using them week in week out, the effects, the reasons to why. There are some that cross over and that is what makes it hazzy, such as cocaine which is highly addictive. PErsonally i wouldn't link the stronger stuff to the likes of weed and ecstasy. Then the arguements used to keep them illegal are generally the thoughts that they are dangerous from media sources etc, THere is nothing more risky than going out on the town, for a few drinks. It seems the media is used to misinform/scare people;
Take for instance this summer, massive story "Jesse Wallace takes the deadly drug ketamine" There was a story along these lines in one of the paper, in which it sensationalised this "new" drug, saying potentially lethal etc.
THe thing is most things are potentially lethal in excess, there was no mention of this "deadly" drugs usage in hospitals up and down the country on children and old people, used at car accidents, used in vets etc.
